Emerald Crabs usually do a good job of Valonia or bubble algae removal for me.
I would try manual removal first before adding it to the tank then let the crabs do the rest.

+1 on the emerald crab.. I have one in my tank, he grazes on everything like a midnight algae buffet.

RO water, or saltwater? If in RO, you will probably kill off all the beneficial bacteria!

A bunch of folks think emerald crabs are a pain, and I can sort of understand why, but I can buy the nastiest frag from my LFS and the next day it's clean as a whistle, thanks to the emeralds. I'll take emeralds crawling on corals over nuisance algae any day!

I wouldn't scrub bubble algae as that would release the spores. Instead, I would remove the spheres using your fingers. They are firm to the touch and break off of the rock very easily. Best and easiest method.
