For a limited time, we are offering our new stock of DIY LED products at a discount price. Our normal prices are still some of the most competitive on the net, but during the sale, you can cash in on extra savings.

Currently on the site, we have Cree XR-E Q5 (WG bin) cool whites, and royal blues, mounted, for the low price of $6.29 each. We also have genuine Cree optics in 40, 60 and 80 degree angles for $1.19 each.

New to our product lineup that will be shipping soon is our new adhesive thermal pad. These pads are custom made for use to fit the standard 20mm hex pcb for true peel and stick application of your LEDs to the heatsink. With a 5mil thickness, they provide a great, easy to use fastening solution with minimal thermal resistance. We are introducing these at $0.49 per pad.

All sale items can be found here

Would this work well over a 3G pico?

The lamp? Sure.

Are the thermal pads better than the luxeon ones that have been brought up a few times?

Just kidding.

I love you guys. Anyone on here since the early days of NC knows how much we care about the NR community as a whole. Over the past 4 years or so, Evil has taken a handful of tinkerers to a level of precision and knowledge unparalleled in ANY enthusiast community (ok the flashlight guys are pretty nutZ!!).

You guys just need a reliable, one stop shop for everything DIY. Which is what the heart of Nanotuners has always been always about.

Through the years, we've seen nanotuners evolve with the trends, and we are happy as heck to have evil workin with us.

He's always been the benchmark and believe me, he will always be the same evil you have known and loved, now empowered with industry links.

To the future!!!!

Same material, but thinner so there is less thermal resistance. I've done a lot of talking back and forward with the manufacturer of these and this worked out to be the best solution for ease of use and for thermal performance. We get them custom made for us, so we aren't just reselling the Luxeon Star ones, just so you know wink.gif

These will need a little pressure and heat to cure properly, but it's not going to be hard to set up. I will have instructions available once these ship. Don't worry, you won't need anything fancier than a good heavy book and some eggcrate to get the job done.

I guess I should have asked would a single bulb cover the whole tank?
evilc66
Yes, it will smile.gif Coverage is dependant on how high you mount it. For full coverage on a Picotope, I'd say you want to start at about 12" above the water. This will still yeild lots of PAR.

Hi Evil,

How long are the special prices good for?
ccjung
until we run out of stock. Lol.

Do the Thermal Pads have as good of heat transfer as Artic Silver and bolts?
evilc66
No. Nothing will ever be as good as that. The thermal performance is still good though, and when installed correctly will have minimal thermal resistance. It's a very good alternative to the labor intensive task of drilling and tapping.
