Thanks! I'm not sure...still waiting to see what they turn into. They were bleached out polyps that came with my LR. I'm hoping they turn into something very beautiful with some light We'll have to wait and see .

yep...and it was super easy to make. The only thing I did differently was used an aqualifter pump that I already had on hand. The other way, when the regular air pump kicked off, the freshwater was still pumping through for a while...I think my pump may have been too big for that purpose...I wanted to use equipment I already had so I tried it. I was all set to go out and purchase a very small, little power pump, when I remembered I had the aqualifter. It works like a charm. With the aqualifter, there isn't a need to have an air-tight seal on the water container.

Awesome pico set-up, hope to see more pics and updates in the future.

Just a side note, I googled Mr. Aqua, and it seems this MAY be a subsidiary of some type of Azoo. The mirror back tanks they used to offer were very nice, other than the mirror back of course. Hopefully these tanks become more widely available in more sizes.

I'm going to be losing my internet tomorrow morning until Wed. sometime. Switching out of AT&T u-verse..back to DSL. They have to turn it off 24 hours in advance..PITA! As soon as I can get back online I'll post some updated pictures. I'd do it now but the lights are off.

I put a frag of red monti in this tank..from my 10g. I'm finding a new aptasia everyday..ugh! I think I'm going to try a peppermint shrimp. None of the Aptasia X/ joe's juice stuff ever works for me. They always come right back.

I haven't even put any cuc. in this tank yet. I'm going to try to avoid it for as long as possible. I bought a nimble nano magnetic cleaner...that thing is the BEST. I tried the two little fishies nanomag (junk, for me anyways). The nimble nano is amazing, really! www.nimblenano.com!!!! If you have a glass pico..you need this

I agree, the Nimble Nano is awesome, tight clamping force for such a tiny mag-cleaner, works awesome.

Finally found some time to take new pictures of this tank! All taken today 11-04-09. The chaeto is out of control..but no nuissance algae Unfortunately I have an overload of aptasia. You can probably see some in the photos. I'm going to pick up a peppermint shrimp this week to see if that does anything. None of the aptasia remedies work for me...they just come right back.

Everything seems to be going really well with this tank. I'm not seeing any corraline growth yet. I also haven't fed this tank anything at all..just water changes. There are no inhabitants in this tank except for the pods. Haven't had a need for any CUC yet.

Another thing I would never buy again is sexy shrimp...they are zoa pickers! Those are my two biggest regrets. Both are beautiful creatures though..no doubt about that.

I agree. It is totally a bummer..cuz I love the looks of the sexies. And of course, they are hardy as heck (for me anyways). I don't know about the symbiotic relationship between fish. Maybe someone else can answer that one

I read somewhere to get rid of Aiptasia pull the rock out of the tank and using a small butane torch burn them off. Never tried it but it might be a worth while experiment.

I tried some Aptasia X again on the bigger ones. We'll see what happens this time. I'm thinking a combination of Aptasia X and an aptasia eating peppermint shrimp should do the job. If not, I'll buy a torch

Beautiful tank Gina. I started one recently and have 2 sexies in it and some zoa. I am keeping an eye on them lil sexies and if they even look like munching on my zoa they will be placed back into the 24 gal.

I hope you have better luck than me I keep trying to catch the one sexy that is left in my 10g..she is sooo fast!!!!! I had 3. One jumped. One disappeared after I removed the mini anemones from the tank. He loved those mini nems, hosted them. I think I broke his little heart! I just have the one left and she terrorizes my zoas. It doesn't matter if I feed her...she still does it. She doesn't mess with palys though. I'm hoping they have short life-spans

how 's the fight with aiptisia?

Not good. Once again, it didn't work with the aptasia X. I went to the LFS by me, for a peppermint shrimp today, and they didn't have any. Gonna try another store tomorrow.

I know! I was concerned about that too! But, he is doing fine navigating around the mini nems. When a foot or antenna touches a nem, he quickly pulls it out..so looks like it won't be a problem

Peppermint shrimp are cool, I had one that would only hang upside down under the live rock. Really cool to watch. Sadly he was ruthlessly murdered in the middle of the night by a emerald crab punch drunk with rage. Justice was served when the crab was apprehended after a high speed chases around the tank.

LOL This peppermint is the only inhabitant of this tank right now (cept for the coral of course), so he should be safe.

So, the shrimp cleared out all the aptasia in this tank...and yesterday he was looking hungry again (bottomless pit????) So, I thawed out a little uncooked cocktail shrimp and fed him that. It seems really wrong to be feeding him shrimp, but he loved it. I think I'll pick up some pellets and see how he does with that.

they love those sinking pellets. my buddy feeds his with them all the time......the shrimp love it.

Thanks I'm starting to question whether or not I should have started this one. I really don't do a whole lot with it...except for water changes. It will be interesting to see what happens with it since I don't tinker around with it AT ALL. I wish I had a better light for it, for better growth. But I refuse to spend anymore money on it. It also makes me nervous being out in an unheated room. The temps out there get in the low 50s in the morning. The water has been staying a toasty 80 degrees though..thanks to the reef keeper lite. I have the actual heater cranked up into the 90s. Hopefully my equipment won't let me down, nor the power co. If the power goes out..the tank is in trouble immediately due to temps. I do have to say, it's been a surpisingly easy tank to maintain.

Thought I'd add some new year photos, taken today 1-15-10. I added some ricordeas from the 10g...down on the sand. And I'll throw in a couple of pictures of my other great loves
