Why is my 14G water so cloudy still on day two...I am wondering if I didnt mix the salt well!!! Is this possible?
mikreef
could be that, or alot of times if you add sand and don't really rinse it out the water may take a couple to completely clear out. what media are you using in the back?
Rocket
day 2 of what? WC or adding sand? Did you change something?
tuffm2000
I think it is the salt Corallife Salt not a big fan of it at all!

I am starting my Nano Reef again I bought a bag of Livesand and a bag of Corallife.... That is about all!
Rocket
I say its the sand. You cannot rinse LS and it will be cloudy for a few days. put a filter sock on to speed it up!

It's just a mesh looking back to hold loose filter medium (polyester, carbon, etc.) Some people use unwashed pantyhose as well.

And PS, you'll want to put a really fine water polishing pad, or filter floss (pure polyester) in your filter sock to get the small sand particles out of the water. The sock alone won't do anything tongue.gif

I thought of that but part of his tube is now gone!
Nanobuds
the tube isnt a part of the duster, so it wont harm it. the duster will make a new tube

are you adding the salt directly to your tank? that's a big no-no. mix the salt with RO/DI water before you put it in the tank.

Good link for water changes:
