You guys are going to get me in trouble one of these days.
Glad you like the rock even though you don't like Sears!
You are going to be happy with the mud. There are some macro/seagrass fragments in the mud, (that aren't likely to take), don't worry about screening them out, they wont cause any damage to the system and will help the growth process. After you have it settled in and capped, you will see some nice growth from substrate planted macros and seagrasses I hope.

OOOOhhhh, I wanna hop on the bandwagon!

No personal experience with them, but I've never heard one bad thing about reefcleaners, and I anticipate adding to my CUC through them within the next couple weeks (after I decide what I want).
All of the positive reviews in this thread only help solidify my decision!

got my custom cuc, awesome, nothing dead and to be honest everything was in there about 8 hours longer then it needed to be. John made sure I didnt do anything stupid like leave chitons on the porch

Glad i got my chitons from john and when I need more macros, I'm going to be putting in another order.

oh great to hear. I got a phone call today saying I got a shipment from you as well, excited to go pick it up.
skydive by the way is a great trader, if you guys find yourselves wanting to trade with him, don't hesitate, the service is remarkable, sent me tracking emailed me a bunch of times, shipped on the day I needed him too, to an address I changed, very accommodating.

I don't think that there are words to describe how awesome reefcleaners are. Not only did I get hooked up with virgin nerites but I only ordered a couple of dwarf ceriths and I received about 30. Thank You
The nerites are destroying the algae on my acrylic and as soon as I dropped in the ceriths they either borrowed into the sand or started to work on the rocks.
Thanks again I couldn't be happier. I wouldn't even think twice about recommending reefcleaners to anyone who needs a cuc or some macro.

Just opened the box and WOW!

This stuff is awesome, better than I was expecting. This is my 5th saltwater tank in the last 15 years I have had, and I'd rate this base rock, best ever. Thanks a million john, heres a pik.

oh...you got jokes now jacobnano? I wish I did, (insert witty comeback here)
we should have some decent stock by then blue, this is the worst time for macros....weird too, the weather and the sea have both cooperated, but it still looks like fall down there...it will probably all bounce back right in time for the real fall weather...go figure.

are you implying my chitons aren't cool? You do have a point though...time for me to stop being so lazy and find a new colony of interesting critters.
i think we might offer a new algae next....caulerpa verticellata - can be highly invasive, but is cool in macro tanks...i don't know, worried someone might not read the disclaimer on the site....

Oct 13 2009, 06:37 PM
No they are very cool, but you and I both know there are cooler one haha. I mean like start stocking pink ones or something else like that. I mean we all have coraline lol.

Oct 13 2009, 08:25 PM
Thats true

How often do you see special ones, basically the ones that aren't on your site?
johnmaloney
Oct 13 2009, 08:55 PM
never. we see some ugly larger species, (i forget their name), but none of the colorful ones like mrnherper had...trust me if I did y'all would know about it. (After I took a few for myself...

)
Jacobnano
Oct 13 2009, 08:59 PM
Thats too bad, I guess that would make sense though, we do like colorful things.
I wonder if I need some sort of collectors license in WA, I would assume I do but we own the tidelands where I would get the stuff. Anyway, I can see it now: "Coldwater Reef Cleaners" haha.

you do need a collection permit, for some reason in the Pac NW they are really touchy about their inverts, but the fishing isn't limited much at all. I was talking with someone there, and this is probably old news, but you are limited to 6 inverts a day, even with the specialized license.

I just ordered again
I think that's the third order in two months. I evicted all the crabs except the anemone crab and needed replacements.....only snails from now on

Really? I know they cut back on rock cod, but that is a fish. Huh thats weird, I assume that doesn't include shellfish because I can keep them (and crab) with a normal shellfish and sea grass license. Well I guess I will go ask my dad, he probably knows anyway lol.

it might have been oregon now that i think of it...i dont know much about it other than what a collector for coldwater species told me once...never looked it up or anything....
http://wdfw.wa.gov/fish/shelfish/crabreg/o...eciesregs.shtml10 seems to be the daily bag limit just by looking at it quick...seems to fall under the unclassified marine inverts section - commercial license probably different though

Thanks! I think the hardest part is picking a location.

I was dead set on one, and then I was shown another property...I like that one too!

One spot is in an area with heavy competition, (5 other reef stores within 6 miles, and a PETCO and a Pet Supermarket), and the other is in a spot with a 1 reef store, 1 store with a small SW section and and a PETCO and a Pet Supermarket....I would like it in the first location because it is a bit closer to where I live, (and my warehouse), but I don't know...tough call....one has a Publix as an anchor too....that is attractive....Maybe I should open 2 stores...

(Probably not...)

Throwing in another positive transaction with John and Reef Cleaners. Ordered a 5 Nassarius and 20 Dwarf Ceriths. I think John just grabbed a handful of the dwarfs an threw them in the bag as I stopped counting after 40
Thanks again John. I know exactly where I'll be ordering all macros and cleaners in the future. Prices were perfect, shipping was excellent and affordable, and service was great.

I wanted to throw in another positive review for ReefCleaners. John took time to update me on all stages of my order, and not just through his automated order system, but with actual comments emailed to me in a very timely manner. This is way above and beyond any online order I have placed. On top of that, I ordered just 6 snails and received over 30! Haha!! Same story as everyone else, but I just think that is so cool. My mangroves are starting to shoot out roots already and I'm super happy with the transaction overall.

I don't know why but I am super sloppy on the net. I think about 90% of my posts have glaring typos/errors etc... I was going to run a "find the typo" contest...but I couldn't afford it.

Great to hear it worked out Phorensic! Keep the top of the mangroves misted and the leaves will follow quicker, but the root development comes first, and is more important.
