i dont have a picture right now but ill work on getting one up. but this is what it is. the mouth of the zoa gets really pointy and sticks out and then the skirt closes backwards instead of the right way when they close. any one heard of this? soon or later the zoa just withers away.

any one? huh.gif

Mine turn themselves backwards once in a while but they don't die...

zoas do all sorts of odd things...make sure your lighting is up-to-date, and all parameters are within range.

I find zoas do this sort of stuff when you change location of colonies, do any sort of adjustments to flow and lighting.

try not to worry too much about individual colonies of zoas, sometimes you can do everything right and they can still go south on you.

hmmm...how old are your bulbs?

In the past I had zoas start to look chewed on, and inverted and all sorts of mess....it was because of the lighting..

I'll assume you dont have nudibranches....

How is your alkalinity?

Has the flow in your tank changed...GPH wise, or even directionally?

maybe it's some sort of disease, you should try a mass antiseptic dip.

no nudis, alk 9, calcium 410. and no water flow change. chemistry wise all good. lighting wise all good.
