I got myself a Nikon D50 I have been using the Auto feature but only 1 out of 4 shots turns out for me and even then not the best quality...my Sea&Sea housing will not fit in the tank so thats out of the question...can I get some pointers from some people out there that maybe have been doing this for awhile? I would like to get some shots so you all can see my tank.

alright I am going to tell Susie to read the thread since all of that will make sense to her...never really thought about turning the pumps off...as soon as he started talking about white balance I called in reinforcements....

just do auto wb then or experiment until you find something that looks right
the basics are tripod, no pumps, turn lights off in the room except the aquarium

I forgot the timer and didn't max it all out on sizing either...I was using the camera for autotrader shots it looks like last....it was set at small 1504x1000 it will be set at 3008x2000 .jpg fine. I have never shot raw before so I dont know if I will be able to view the file on my computers.

^Doesn't appear to be anything wrong with that photo at all. What exactly are you unhappy with?

the pic is fine
the blurry stuff around the edges is because of the curved glass on the tank
