I have been using oceanic natural sea salt mix, and was wondering what you guys use. My LFS is not that good in the fact that they have no other salt mix to choose from. I will be ordering off the inet so if you have any recommendations on a website to order from let me know.

D-D H2O Pro + salt. probably the best. also Tropic Marin salt is good to. IMO NSW is best but most people dont have a supply to it tongue.gif

Hey stevie and scott. His question is valid but its one that gets asked A LOT.. I know. Wish some people would try the search button.

But since I'm in a happy mood! No work/classes tomorrow and sipping my pinacoladda...

I use Oceanics salt. I buy the big 6 gallon pail of it. 68 pounds shipped. UPS driver hates me every time. I order 2 at a time. same shipping rate so I save money in the long run.

Some of you will hate me for this but I frequent both sites. This is Reef Centrals current stats on a lot of the major salt brands.

too old, from June. See how often this is asked. Salt is obviously what we all use so I am sure there are answers out there. If anyone wants to beat me on answering the question more times go right ahead. The problem with this question is that everyone will say what they use as the "best" when there really is not best. The best thing is that you keep your salinity at the right level and you test for things like calc and alk at least once every decade.

To the OP. I would order from drs foster and smith or premium aquatics because of the proximity of your location. Salt is heavy and the shipping costs will be less.
