Jacobnano
Hey you live kinda by me awesome!

The problem I see would be finding it again, around here there are lots of rivers and lakes as places to kill the electronics haha. But as long as it doesn't go through a jetstream, it should be within driving distance (hopefully).

LOL yeah. hey what yr you in? im a soph in HS.
Jacobnano
Me too. Sophomore with all honors, nerd FTW
nanoreefnate
LOL i wish i could do that. LOL my only "honors" class is chemistry but then again im just AP...LOL

oh yeah are you planning on taking marine bio? im taking it this year.
Jacobnano
My school doesn't have that. I am in honors chem/physics for science right now. I know this is a little early on but I plan on going to the university of hawaii at manoa to study marine biology and volcanology, my two passions haha. Its basically the only place where you can do both, and it is now part of the western states reciprocity, so you pay basically resident tuition. I do like WWII too haha <- Passion haha

Edit: I dunno if you want to, I mean it looks good and I am going into the IB program (doesn't matter if your don't know what that is haha) but I have about 5 hours of homework every night.
nanoreefnate
heyyy well what do ya know. im really into WWII history. My grandpa was actually a Marine for the Phillipines. one of the last ones living too. hes 85, and im scared he could fall over any time...thats why im going with him to the phillipines next year...i feel so bad for him...especially because all his problems are attributed to his 1 year stay in a japanese POW camp. sad.gif dang WWII japanese.

well anyways yeah...LOVE the naval stuff especially with the aircraft carriers and battleships its like heaven! laugh.gif tongue.gif

IB is probably like AVID. gives you extra homework to do and in turn gives you more college creds right?
Jacobnano
Hahaha ya thats basically what IB is. Thats pretty crazy, those prison camps were pretty bad.

He so weird, my grandpa on my dads side, hes like 85 too, he was a 10th mountain skier and then a machine gunner and a sniper in europe (all over). My grandpa (he passed away sad.gif) but hes is like my idol. He helped design the nuclear reactors for the atomic bombs. Very cool. Ya its really interesting stuff, you probably like saving private ryan and band of brothers right? If you haven't seen them DO.
nanoreefnate
OMG DUDE ive only watched those movies (and series) ABOUT 100MILLION TIMES. those are THE BEST WWII movies out there. just gotta love em. happy.gif

oh wow you grandpa was a gunner and sniper?! OMG he lucky. also lucky he didnt get shot down. sorry that he passed away tho. sad.gif
Jacobnano
Ya my grandpa who was a sniper/gunner/skier went through some bad things, friends died in his arms, he got hit by a land mine that killed his best friend (got a purple heart). Ya its a bummer that my other grandpa died (more than a bummer, he was amazing smart you have no idea lol), we are sure it was because of the radioactive stuff. They used to hold plutonium with just gloves and run it from one reactor to the other lol. We have pictures to prove it, crazy stuff.

They are the best period. You should read the book band of brothers, I just bought it and I am gonna read when I have time. I can't read it for my English class because its non-fiction sad.gif

Its by stephen e ambrose by the way.
nanoreefnate
oh yeah huh. i should read those bay boys. but i have read flags of our father and watched the movie. no as good as saving private ryan but still pretty good. i also liked the book too.

and WOW. plutonium with gloves!?!?! is that like...even ethical? LOL seems kinda scary taking into account its glowing green. LOL
Jacobnano
They didn't know how bad it was back then, the whole idea of an atomic bomb was experimental and top secret of course haha smile.gif

I haven't seen flags of our fathers, or read it. Probably should lol.
nanoreefnate
yeah its ok...probably not as good as BOB but you know... you can try it. LOL

hey do you play and Xbox or the like? if you do you have battlestations pacific/midway?
Jacobnano
Play xbox fo sho. Not recently though, used to play COD and Halo lol. I have played battlefield 1944(I think, there are so many, the new one that is downloadable, its actually really nice).
This thread is gonna go into the lounge lol...
nanoreefnate
LOL that would be awesome. THIS IS THE OFFICIAL TEEN LOUNGE OF N-R. laugh.gif happy45.gif
OFFICIALLY STARTED 9/15/09 BY JACOBNANO AND NANOREEFNATE!

What was this thread about?
Jacobnano
Space Aliens. Well I am off to school....
matty0206
Hey......get a room! tongue.gif
StevieT
Some of the pics look pretty crappy. I am guessing it just took the pictures with no AF?
wvned
My son did this at WVU. Their camera shot video. The cool part is the Air Force fly by that starts the payload spinning.
1337TANKHAX
I saw this article yesterday. That is so brilliant and awesome.
n0rk
I bet the FAA just LOVES those guys... dry.gif
StevieT
Payload under 4lbs does not have to be registered or whatever. In the article
nanoreefnate
Just watched the vid. the last hour of the pix seems to be UBER BLURRY. lol probably because of the temp differences. looks really cool though.

I meant more the, "O hay it's a strange object in our direct flight path!" factor when people inevitably try to do this themselves.
