Yes, and the worst part is, he had eaten a full meal the day before. The pepps antennaes were sticking out of his mouth for like 4 hours.

GrandpaFeathers
May 24 2010, 03:26 PM
I have no idea. Prior to running into this fish, I was toying with the thought of many gobies. This obviously narrows down what I can and cannot have. Any suggestions?

May 24 2010, 03:29 PM
Well since you got a predatory fish i would do a predator tank?
GrandpaFeathers

If he's swimming around... he's not happy. He's attempting to pick up his luggage to swim to bluer pastures.
Mine start to pace when they get hungry or if I stare at them too long. Usually this is all I see.....

Yeah, he was unhappy. I had to poke him (with a broken plastic hanger) so he'd move. I couldnt get pictures, without doing that. Eventually i learned that he'd follow the hanger and try to eat it. I fed him a molly, and he when it got close, he actually unburied himself and rose a few inches in order to get it. Is that normal? Right now, all I see is an uglier version of Renee's picture

Due to a sleeping disorder, I run my lighting schedule at night. I just came down to check on my aquarium, and he doesn't look good. Swimming around, but he throws off the impression that his mother dropped him on his head when he was born. Moving slowly, and is getting blown around by my powerheads. I've turned them off, and he's crawling around on my rockwork. What can I do? Right now I'm mixing 5 gallons of saltwater for a water change. It'll be mixed in an hour or so, when I'll begin mixing another 5 gallons.

GrandpaFeathers
Jun 5 2010, 02:09 AM
Fish is fine now, did a 10% water change once a day for three days.
Now, about my rockscape. Should I keep it the way it is, or should I make the mound on the left different? I am considering taking the ledge down and adding it somewhere else.
Thoughts?

I'm not sure, I'm more into coral than fish.
However there's a small lionfish for sale over here, I've been looking into that. I ordered some bulbs! They're due to come in tomorrow.

That was a beautiful fish! I think that Volitans lionfish have got to be one of the prettiest, even if they're the most common. These bulbs make my tank look AMAZING, I'll have to post some pics tomorrow.
I went with
Blue+ x4
Aquablue 14k x2
True Actinic x2

Well I got myself a Volitans Lionfish!
I'm not sure if I said it before, but the clown has long been eaten by my Goblin.
So as of right now, my stocking is:
Sea Goblin
Volitans Lion
Coral Beauty
Pseudochromis
lots of Ceriths, two conchs, a giant turbo, and a couple hermits.
I've also got some coral additions as well. For some reason the camera isn't working though.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to put in. The Volitans will eventually outgrow it, so I'll have to switch it our for another type. I'm not sure which yet though.

So what happened with the venomous fish? They pass away or did you return them?

Probably for the best that the predatory fish are gone... Even though you said you wanted to focus on a coral tank, they tend to produce enough waste that it's probably better to do a single species tank if that's the route you want to take. Having multiple of these types of fish is a pain.

Yeah, it was becoming a bit too much. I think I might get rid of the Royal Gramma as well, and focus on a more peaceful tank. I am wondering if I should get a large stocklist of gobies.. Lots of small fish can be pretty interesting.

Lots of small fish is indeed interesting. That's how my 50 is set up and I love it. You get to see a lot more interaction between the fish. Is your gramma really that aggressive that you don't think you can keep it in a friendly reef environment?

Yes, it sits up on the rocks, and when my yellow wrasse comes out of the sand, it's chased nonstop. I don't mean chase for a few inches and stop.. The Gramma is trying to kill it. I just ccan't catch the gramma yet. It's very annnoying.

The bubble algae is fading back now. I plucked most out with my hands, and I let my crab eat whatever is left over. I bought two emeralds long ago.. Idk if they're still alive or not. My Sally Lightfoot crab actually eats the bubble algae though.
