They've had a white shark every year for the past 4 or 5 years, they typically keep them for a few months only and they are then tagged and released back into the bay.

I've been to the MBA, the shark is in a 1.5 to 1.8 million gallon display. You think they would put it in a 10,000 gallons display!After they reach 5-6 ft they release them.

+1 to the shark having enough room. they also specially designed a bubble wall in front of the acrylic viewing panel specifically so the sharks could not see a place where they could not go. they are an institute you know. im pretty sure they know what they're doing.

on a side not. noone go pix of their reef tank?!!? im guessing ill have to post the ones i got. =P

When I was there a few years ago they had some awesome reef displays. They had all been dismantled this time around and the area was changed into an otter display. My otter pics suck and are not worth posting.
