Thanks. I love woodturning. Very relaxing. Hope you get a new one soon!

Nothing much to report. Tank is still chugging along. The Halymenia is growing but has experienced a coloration shift. Initially it started turning a flame red color and now it has faded to a more orangish yellow color. It is healthy and growing well though. I think it is due to the color temp I am running over this tank (6700K). In my LFS's tank that is running 10000K and actinics it is a deep red color.

I am actually thinking of breaking this little thing down as it is aesthetically not pleasing to my eye. I will place the macro back in my fuge and the small zoa and maybe the Anthelia frag in my Micro Reef tank I am working on. The Anthelia is doing very well in this tank. It started with one polyp and now has about 6 more coming up from the mat. The zoa has popped a couple of more polyps as well.

I will post some pics prior to the tear down. I will probably give the vase and stand to my bride to put candles in.

another one bites the dust sad.gif

Also, for the halymenia, I have it under 10k and actinic T5 lighting, and it's all yellowish as well. I can't figure it out.

Yeah. Picos are frustrating and fascinating at the same time. I am thinking about scrapping my Micro Reef that I am building too and going back to the drawing board for my pico ambition. I have a picotope and a 2.5 gallon laying around that are not getting used. May do something with one of those. I really like my Micro Reef but work has nixed me bringing it in. I am think of putting it on a shelf near my display tank and plumbing it into the sump.

I think that a very small reef tank (<1gal) is doable, but circulation and temp control are a mother. I think that I may use my picotope for something a bit different, go a little bigger and see what happens. Back to the drawing board!

I can't figure out the Halymenia either. I think it is still attractive and a good contrast to the average macro, but the stuff at my LFS is much prettier.

Maybe John will chime in with some wisdom.

I like the idea of plumbing the micro to the main tank - maybe then you could do a trimma goby or something tiny. Make it look really bonsai-ish without having to worry about water quality.

I hope he does.

I like the trimma idea. If I can figure a way to cleanly plumb it into the main tank that could be a possibility.

Some of my favorite micro gobies smile.gif (all on liveaquaria) They all stay under 1", so one should be fine in there!
