i love this tank! the inline frag tank is brilliant. that sure is alot of algea. takes alot of dedication to start picking out that tank by hand. sweet cant wait for more updates.

also that sculpture is sweet!

Thanks! smile.gif Will start cleaning it over the weekend. Also got a bottle of mb7. Will start dosing this by the weekend also to help clean the tank. biggrin.gif

oh snap!

Tank looks amazing! If you don't have any livestock in it yet, go dark for the next few days. Should help kill off some of that algae!
Jerfrog
dude this is a really sick tank. I love it.

I just want to suggest one thing. If you take out the intake fan, the exhaust fan will actually be more efficient in sucking in cool air through your existing intake hole. It creates a suction and may be more efficient for your setup.

But yeah, awesome tank. Even your cycle looks clean haha.

Actually transferred my livestocks already. Still battling a little cyano though. Hope it disappears soon. But nonetheless my livestocks are all looking good. All polyps extended.

Right now I have a pair of true percs and a pair of banggais in it. Planning to add a royal gramma and a sunburst anthias also. Then last to be transferred would be my Purple Tang. Still thinking if I want to add a hi-fin banded goby and some other small schooling fishes like apogons. But those are very hard to find.

Still battling a little cyano...hope it goes away soon.

Here is the most recent FTS of the tank.

Current livestocks:
2 True Percs
2 Banggai Cardinals
Various Rics and Zoas
Blasto Wellis and Blasto Merlettis (different color morphs)
2 Purple Crocea Clams
1 Purple rim plate coral
Various SPS species

Yep. Running a dsb fuge with liverock and cheato. Also running an oversized skimmer on the tank. Nitrates reach a max of 5ppm during feeding then return to 0. Phosphates are 0.01 only. The cyano is nearly gone now.
badfish816
glad to here.

Just remembered i took some pics of my sps corals. Was only able to take a couple cause my lights turned off already. Sorry if its kinda blurry.

Took some pics over the weekend...

just using an ordinary point and shoot camera...Some sps belong to a good friend. Just held it for him temporarily.

Very nice tank pare! Can't wait to see what else you do with.
ReefDreamz
hows the mp40 working for u...do u get a big sand storm ever,,,
Reefman36
NICE!
shandy_say
Thanks everyone!

The mp40w is working great! Currently set at random reef crest mode 60% only and is more than enough flow for my tank. If I set it at more than 60% capacity my sand just goes crazy!

Slowly moving the sps frags on the sand bed to their final locations since I don't want them to get shocked to the lights. Hopefully within the next couple of days they will be at their final positions.

Right now dosing Brightwells KoralColor to help color them up. Fingers crossed! smile.gif

Anything new?
shandy_say
Just some updates.

2 months running and all livestocks are doing very well. SPS corals have started growing already and consume quite a lot of calcium. Been able to keep purple, reds, greens, and yellow sps already however still having problems keeping blue sps. Not really sure why. Need more research regarding this.

Here are some pics I took yesterday.

Birdsnest

Clams and Blastos

Gorgonians

Acroporas and Stylophoras

Monti Cap

Fungia

Softies Island

Litophyllon

Almost completed my LS stocking list. smile.gif

Here is how my tank looks like now. biggrin.gif

chuilan
Do you have any recent pics of your rimless tank? I am very interested in a rimless tank for the future. Right now I have a 28g nano cube that is only 8 months old but I am learning a lot through your experience! Keep it up!

Haven't taken any new pics of my tank chuilan. Its been really hot here lately and some of my sps suffered some STN at the base. Will be installing a chiller soon if my wife permits it. heheh. Ive also been busy fixing my sister-in-laws 50gal tank and my other 29gal biocube. The 50gal is already up and running and already has 4 fish in it now but no corals yet. As for the 29gal i just got a new maxspect 60watt LED system and i have to redo the cabinet for that tank. Hopefully will finish the biocube in the next couple of weeks so i can start cycling already.

Hi shandy. First off awesome tank. Have two questions for you if you don't mind helping out.

1) How are your gorgonians doing? What do you feed them and how often?
2) where'd you get the cool Led moonlights?

Ps any new pictures?
dcook
