The most I did for it was when I saw a patch of it growing on the glass I went over it with a mag-float. Don't know if it did anything or not but yeah what First said....TIME

Dump the Purple Up. Go with a 2-part solution like Reef Code A/B (or B-ionic), keep your calcium levels where they should be, be patient, and voila!

If you don't have anything with coraline on it, seed your tank. Go to a LFS and buy a small piece of LR with lots of purple. Or if you have a local reefkeeper with alot of coraline, get'em to scrape some off the glass and throw it in your tank. Then just keep your calcium/alk on point with a 2-part like mentioned. The purple up junk was a waste of $.

Time with regular water changes to keep up your calcium.

If you don't have time, Krylon fusion makes a waterproof purple paint.

Drip kalk.
don't dose anything unless you're testing for it. test calcium and alk to see where your levels are (API makes a cheap kit). you want your alk around 9-10 and your calc around 450. then, like everyone says, give it a few months and it'll grow.
