ahhh sweet i need to get that so i can use it i hate to have to press the button on the camera.
latazyo
pro version has intervalometer......hmmmmmmmmmm

I am actually buying this because of the timer
latazyo
meh, read further, and you have to have a computer hooked up to the camera for it to work

not as practical as I thought, considering I already have a wireless shutter release

I just need the timer
Lalani
Well that kinda sucks..
latazyo
its still great for studio, but the computer hookup is necessary, and I think they're kind of misleading with the basketball examples, since its not that practical to hook up a computer to a basketball backboard

oh well....I will continue my search for a timer elsewhere, since mine doesn't have one built in
Lalani
What camera do you use?
VicSkimmr

It still can be, depending. I actually bought the pro app ages ago when I saw it on sale before I realized I needed a computer attachment, but eventually I'm going to snag a small netbook for 2-300 bucks and a long usb cable and it'll be super handy I think!

Pretty sure the program is made for those with lappies/netbooks.
n0rk
Goddamn it :| how depressing that it's all but useless in most situations.
n0rk
Pretty sure that's illegal to do, buddy.

^What he said.... so that post went buhbye.

d80 and d40

neither have built in intervalometers

there is a little programmable cable release on ebay for about $50 I am considering, but I dont know

in all honesty, most time laps shots I would be taking wouldn't be in situations where I couldn't bring the computer along

Not sure if this helps because I don't know if it works with nikons or not. It does work for Canon's though. Turns a graphing calculator into an intervalometer.

http://www.instructables.com/id/Turn-a-TI-...n-Intervalomet/

Edit: Won't work with a D40 because it does not have a 2.5mm remote shutter jack. The 2.5mm on the D40 is vid output.

Now I have to dig around find my old graphing calculator from highschool!

I opened this thread thinking this wouldn't be useful to me but it actually could be. In the studio it would be nice to be able to get rid of some wires. I wish the d200 just had a wireless sensor like the d70 did, that would be so much easier.

Only because you want a yuma. tongue.gif

Here are just a few diagrams... too bad they don't have actual pics to represent each effect.
