My case has been resolved, and more wet water is in the display! I've got the last bit on standby now, and I just need to finish the PVC pipe this afternoon. Photos to come!

Looking forward to the photos. cool.gif

I am SO addicted to chocolate covered espresso beans right now.
I buy them in these little packages from my LBS (Local Book Store).
I was very disturbed yesterday when they only had one package left.
I admit it, I have a problem.
Well, several problems, but that's another story....

My ex seemed to have them around all the time. They are darn good, but expensive it seemed.

Shine is more of a rural thing, but I had never heard of everclear until I moved into the city. Everclear is actually a commercially available (in some states) liquor.

Way to go me. I forgot the PVC connector that I need to attach the 90 degree elbow on the inside of the DT. Therefore, I can't fill the water up all the way!

Everclear. BLAH. I'll take good corn squezin any day over that stuff. Nothings better to end a rough day than an ice cold glass of shine and an even colder glass of chaser water.

Unfortunately, I just got home, and the hardware store is already closed. sad.gif I'm gonna go tomorrow morning to pick the (hopefully) last piece I need. Oh, and I'm going to the LFS to get a couple lbs of LR to get the cycle moving in the AM. I also got an email they they've got a few new montipora denae and acropora efforescens that I'll check out for the 20L. Anyone got experience with either of these corals? If they are under $25, I might get one.

I found some pictures, and I'm inclined to agree! It seems like the acro is basically a tabling acro that's a solid purple color.

EUREKA!!!

Progress!! biggrin.gif

Ok, here's what's up:

1) Part of the plumbing is done, so there is more wet water;
2) I picked up some rather sweet LR;
3) and the sand has been added.

Also, I picked up a new $5, 1/2" coral for my 20L. The name has somehow escaped me, but looking over some pictures on the net, it may have been a oulophyllia coral. It's a really bright green (which is becoming a trend in that tank), but the growth pattern of the full-size colony was amazing! Once the picture is taken, I'll post it in the ID section to get confirmation and to refresh my recollection.

I know, I know, useless with out pictures..... I'm waiting on the sand storm to calm, and then photos will be taken and nearly immediately posted!

I'm lucky to have an N-R sponsor with a storefront about 10 minutes or so away from my house. biggrin.gif Almost all of my frags have come from them, and my softies and LPS frags were generally $10 or less!

I know the feeling! I've got a regular style digital camera that my ex got me about three and a half years ago. I also don't have a tripod or a steady place to locate the camera, and macro shots consist of the "flower" setting. wink.gif

Ok, I'm loading pictures up to photobucket now, so in a few minutes, there will be PICHERS!!! tongue.gif

I'll have to try to take a side shot later, but it's actually more of a pyramid than a wall. The far right side and the left side of the bottom rock has a crescent shape when viewed from the top down, and there will be a nice cave at the bottom. It took a lot of work to put that thing together though.... it's held together by the shape of the rock and gravity, with no glue or putty necessary!
clownfish617
ok ,

ok , cool. yeah i never have used putty or glue either lol
Militant Jurist
I'll have better photos once things die down... the ins and outs of the rockwork will look a lot cooler then!

For now, my FTS can be summarized as:

I have typically done so, to make sure things don't come crashing down. However, this time I had a better selection of rock, and I was able to put things together in a way that holds itself together. Plus, when it comes time to frag something, I won't have the whole drama of taking large sections of rock from the tank! wacko.gif
ap123
I have to agree with Clownfish, I LOVE the way that right side looks! wub.gif Beautiful.

LOL, glad I'm not the only one who's camera challenged. wink.gif I don't actually own a working camera right now, mine broke so I'm using a loaner from a generous friend. cool.gif Same as you, macro is the little flower, and no tripod laugh.gif Still, I'm glad to have it. biggrin.gif

Geez, I dunno. From the limited plumbing I have done I would really think a few minutes should do it. You only have a few seconds work time with the stuff I used.

Suppose it depends on the type of cement you used.

I think the cement I've got says 2 hours, but I just wanted to check if I should wait longer to reduce risk of anything odd leaching into the water. I might give it a few days, considering that I'll be leaving for chicago for a few days, and would rather not have a new plumbing setup running while I'm gone!

Thanks! I like to prepare for halloween well ahead of time though. I've already got my "Autopsy Room" sign ready for the front door, and now I just need to start working on my "Achtung! Danger! Land Mines!" sign to go in the front yard. That should do the trick! cool.gif

I plan on fragging the heater coral soon! Once the sump is up and running, I think it's going to serve double duty as a heater frag tank! You're first in line after the heater coral frag is healed up. However, from what I've been able to read up on the coral, I'll need to dip it in a strong alcohol solution, rather than lugols. I'm looking forward to the fragging though! laugh.gif

NRF: I recall you mentioning a while back about how reefing was supposed to be fun, and maybe even relaxing. Well, you were right. I got a nice big mountain of stress added on my shoulders sunday night, and playing with the aquascape helps! Of course, it might go through fifty minor revisions (a turn here, a twist there... the occasional change of column angle, etc), but it sure helps. I was going to start vodka dosing, but alas, I was out. sad.gif

Just about anything would have done given my evening last night. Unfortunately, all I had was some stuff for long island iced teas, and it just wouldn't do. I didn't go shopping since I'm heading out of town for a few days soon, so no recent purchases.

In a way, I suppose it was a good thing, because I had to be at my law school early this morning for bar license and composite pictures. If I had alcohol in the house last night, it wouldn't have been here this morning, and I think a hung-over picture would be bad. wink.gif
Militant Jurist
The waters have cleared, and I've taken photos!

But first, in order to drag things out in order to create suspense, here's a photo of my not-yet-operational-sump, my kitteh, and a purchase that at least NRF should enjoy! tongue.gif

Ok, now for tank photos! The clouds have parted, and I have declared that it is good. laugh.gif

laugh.gif

Thanks! I ended up not using the rods because the rock fit like a glove with the other pieces. Everything but the columns are free standing, and the columns just needed a bit of aquamend to stay put. The rods were cheaper (just a few bucks), so I'm going to use them to make plugs for my frag disks. I might also use them for some zoa frags, to get them growing in interesting shapes.
