I guess that the area of law in which I work (the same area in which I'll practice) is a very small group of attorneys who really only go up against city attorneys or the state attorney general's office. It's been my experience with the OAG's office that they don't quite understand some of the fine distinctions of this area of law, and tend to misrepresent it a lot. Right now, we've been handling a lot of one type of case, so we're going up against the same person in the OAG's office each time. It's gotten to the point where it's getting down right hostile. She's tried to bury us a few times in paperwork, by needless filings, some of which were in contravention of the judge's order. I don't think rule 11's or ethics reports are necessary when it's a one off occasion, but when it gets this far, they become worthwhile. If the judge hadn't signed another order chastising the OAG's office and summarily denying all of their excess motions before we responded, a rule 11 motion would certainly have come up in that context.

Gotta love 'em! I work with a non-profit and Ohio has an equal access to justice act providing attorney fees for cases brought to protect constitutional rights, and that's our bread and butter. Sanctions don't really help us in those cases, because we're covered anyways. But they'd still be nice!

February 2010. Which means that I'm presently enjoying the fun that is bar preparation.

In Ohio, 3rd year law students (and those waiting for bar results) can get a limited license to use with government agencies, law clinics, or nonprofits. I fall into the later category, which is how I've been able to handle administrative trials and appeals thus far. There's an original action in my future as well. I worked in the legal clinic for a while, where I prosecuted for a suburb of Columbus, and handled everything ranging from criminal defense to divorces to wills.

Yeah, the overnight shipping could be pricey. I'm thinking of either going to get one locally (either a no-guarantee but good store, or a crappy store with a 14 day guarantee + my own QT tank) OR I might wait until I'm ready to get the chalk bass pair and get the sixline then from LA.
I suppose this is a good time to ask these question. What kind of setup should I have for a QT tank? I don't have a lot of space, but a 10g seems a bit small for a QT tank for fish like chalk bass and a sixline, especially if I get them all at the same time. I'm thinking about getting a 14g rubbermaid, so that it would at least have a bit of extra room. Other than that, I'm guessing just a heater and a HOB?

Glad to know I didn't screw it up in my haste to get everything ready today. Nah, I don't see anything other than "Billing Information Received" for the package I dropped off. The UPS store said their last Air pickup was at 7:00PM, and I dropped mine off between 4:00 and 4:30, so maybe nothing will be up there until after 7:00PM for me. Then again, I checked my RODI, which is supposed to arrive tomorrow, and it still says that it is still where it was at 2PM yesterday.

inorite? The folks at SpectraPure said I need a few more hours of flushing, on account of the cold water in my house, but still, I'll have some ultra wet water to be mixing up for a WC tomorrow!
I'm also thinking about getting some kind of tub for making water. It would be nice to have another decent sized tote for the water to go into for mixing, but that would result in some mess when it comes to putting it into buckets to then go to the tank. The only other option I can come up with is to just have the water be made straight into the buckets, and I'll just have to keep an eye on the unit. It limits me to making up 5 gallons of SW at a time, because I only have one spare powerhead. That's what made me think of a bigger tub, so that I could mix bigger amounts with my little pump. I think I'll have to go with the 5 gallon bucket plan for now, unless someone has a better suggestion for me.

Sounds like a nice setup! I've got to be careful about humidity in my house though, and that much water sitting around my basement probably wouldn't be a good idea. I only use about 10g per week for WC, and my space is limited.
Maybe I'll get a bigger tote and go that route if I can find a used Mag pump to use as a mixer and a transfer pump.

Hm.... MJ getting an MJ could do the trick! Unfortunately, the powerhead I've got is one of those super old school things where it's a little box that sucks water at the bottom and pushes it out from a tube on the side. Now I've got two options, either hunt for a used Mag pump or an MJ with the pump fitting. Good call!

It looks like a compression fitting of sorts? The pump I've got can't handle pumping much distance through vinyl tubing, but if that's a compression fitting, I might be able to also use a reducer for 1/4" piping, and that might be just enough to let the pump I've got do some work!
