Has anyone used floor tiles (like at home depot) as frag plugs? I have some anthellia that is spreading really fast. I want to put a frag on the tile and as it spreads, just cut the tile to frag. This would make it really easy to frag. Thanks..

Here's a link about using plugs from Lowes, should be helpful.

I saw this, and it would work fine but it's too small. Would the large size tile work the same? These anthellia grows FAST.

Yeah it'll be fine, if you look through the thread dtfleming bought the 1"x1" instead of the 5/8 , they might even have bigger ones.

Try rubble rock, square plugs are evil.

I'm using rubble rock right now and the anthellia are growing on all sides even underneath. I don't want it to start growing on the eggcrate. Even scraping off the anthellia would be easier with it growing on the tile.

I have used the square tiles MANY times and they work great. But, as you already know, they do not look all that great.

Use marble rather than ceramic tiles, the little 1" square ones.

Marlble is calcium carbonate, and as such, corals adhere well to it, better than they do to ceramic, ime.
