Looking to pick up a good book on working with acrylic. Any suggested titles?

None that I know of. Just get some cement, scraps and ask alot of questions.
1st tip. Brake Kleen will clean any glue drips safely off acrylic. True life saver.

Whats Brake Kleen? Glue? I though acrylic was melted together using some kind of solvent....

U do use a solvent he was just calling the weldon glue.

brake kleen is just that. its a cleaner for automotive brakes. Your right you do use weldon cement. but its easier to type glue:
