I have a new Maxima in my 24 gallon. My tank doesn't have any swings exept for temperature because I have the fan come on with my MH. Will a 2-3 degree temperature swing stress the clam out?

I don't know about stressing the Max, but 3 degrees is a BIG swing in my way of doing business....I try to stay within 1 degree......

For the past 7 years, come summer time, I have upwards of a 5 degree swing - 4 is more common. If you look at a natural reef, higher temp swings (especially in the shallows) are more common, so I wouldn't worry about 2-3.
