Background and progression:
Ok, so smile.gif my father had a terrible old run down beatup tank. It's been alot of work in the progress, and ill spare you some rather disgusting shots of taking the old tank down. I'll just put it this way. Once the undergravel filter was removed, you're looking at 10+ years of trapped deitrius. Could not see through 1/2" of the liquid under there.

Found a deal on some cheap local live rock! Had some growth on it already, kinda had to take everything. we did about an 80% water change so nitrates were still really high from his old tank. But they're currently at 0.

Got the ATI Sunpower 6x54W the first week it was on for sale at premium aquatics. Nice guys over there shipped it before they even had the packaging from the company at my request. Man this thing is BRIGHT. Illuminates the entire downstairs at night.

Picked up an MRC1 Skimmer from spankey a week ago, been running it for four days, AMAZING results for the price he gave me.

Current specs:
ATI Sunpower 6x54W
MRC1 Skimmer with recirc pump and mag 12.
trashcan sump smile.gif.

In progress:
40 breeder sump. Currently cutting the acrylic although fathers business ventures are currently in the way of progress and im returning back to college, so maybe one weekend soon!

The tank a year ago:
Specs: 75g, wet/dry filter. Had fancy stuff like reactors and UV sterlizer, but i don't know the back story on why he stopped hooking those up.. wonder if they still work.

The tank now: (@~2 months)

They've quickly learned the value of researching before buying coral. 1x Goniopora down sad.gif. Unfortunately I'm guilty as well as I was in the store when my sister and him purchased it (sister loved it). I was under the assumption if you had the right tank buying corals wasn't the issue, it was just taking them home and doing research to find out where to put them in the tank. Apparently we just don't know enough about some coral yet. =/ I already got yelled at on the forums don't worry <3.

I will keep y'all updated on how this tank progresses. I've taught him everything I know(not much lol ;x, I depend on you guys) and I'm leaving back for college on Tuesday! Hopefully he will join these forums and learn more.

Much better. Wow. Great start on the road to recovery. I am sure the fish are much happier.

Yes they are! Well, we only had 2 clowns, and one jumped while they were in the trashcan temporarily during the resealing of the tank. It's been ALOT of work lol, but i'm very happy with how it's going.

Can anyone ID those zoa's for me? ;o I'm not good with zoa names.
Radio Active Dragon Eyes maybe?

Anyone got any ideas on how to design a 40BR sump? My father is tired of it sitting in the living room lol
