How problematic do you think it would be to put this in a BC29 hood? WAAAY too hot?

Unfortunately, you'd probably need a chiller if you put it in a hood like that. Someone else can weigh in though because I've never tried it.

I figured I'd need a chiller, but I'm wondering what else may be needed too. I'll not HiJack your thread though, if anyone knows, they can PM me about it.

This is kind of a matter of opinion, but I personally wouldn't put a MH retro in an AIO hood.
I know that some people do it and just DIY fans in to vent out the hot air, but I'm not knowledgeable on that.
You should PM SPerry and ask him about it, he's used lots of AIO tanks and I'm pretty sure he's done this kind of thing at some point.
He could offer some pretty good input.

Seems like if you run a chiller, you shouldn't have any problems.

And no worries on hijacking - keeps the thread bumped, lol.

I'm worried about the zoas I have near the top of my tank, and how well my 2x silnex fans will do at keeping the buld cool.
