Hi, I have only been able to find the loctite gel super glue (blue one) at my local K-mart, and it seems to be the only glue i have success with. After my local K-mart ran out last month, i bought some just random gel super glue and i had a horrible survival rate.
But now they got in a couple cases so i bought 8 of the 8 they had on the shelf. I made up some more frags, glued em on and had "great success!" No casualties, and frags even opened up same day!
Any other info on this would help and what kinds to stay away from! Thanks
Curtis

I only use the loctite super glue gel; simply by habit. Most here do from what I've seen. So long as the active ingriedient is cyanoacrylate, you should be okay to use what ever brand.

cyanoacrylate is the main ingredent that you should be looking for and also make sure that you get the GEL kind and not the cheap watery based super glue.

I use the liquid super glue from wal*mart, its only 97 cents for 12 grams. Its not gel but if you are a skilled propagator like myself you can work with the liquid. The benefit to using the liquid is gravity is your allie unlike gel which stays in one spot.... gotta learn how to use the bad side of something for your benefit.

Loctite seems to also be typically carried by Lowes and Home Depot, in case your local K-Mart runs out the next time you have a need.

So that's why GM went bankrupt... you were using all of their super glue!

man! I was thinking the exact same thing! "GM goes under, because emplyoees steal supplies!"

That is funny stuff!
Either that or "GM goes under because they put there cars together with superglue!"

I just use the superglue brand superglue gel. They are sold in 3 packs at the dollar store. I usually by 5 or so each time I go in.

IC Gel is the best that I've used. You can buy 20g tubes on ebay for $7.50 shipped.

No, but I think that that is how they have been increasing their fuel efficiency as of late. I've seen plenty of wrecked / totaled GM vehicles, and I certainly would believe that superglue was used to put the darn thing together!

Recently started using loctite gel. About $3 a bottle, will make at least 50-75 frags of 5-10 polyps. I used to use the superglue gel from BigLots, hated it cuz the cap wouldn't close tight enough so the tip would dry up.

yea i agree on the design of the bottle being good. at first i was squeezing the middle and thought what a piece of garbage. then i figured out you squeeze the sides and it comes out with great control.

I use krazy glue, its a liquid cyanoacrylate but I've used it forever for everything and I know exactly how it flows/dries so when I started fragging recently it seemed more natural to just keep using it instead of learning to use some new gel glue. 100% success so far

probably jinxed now though and I'll kill something next time...

Sometimes if I happen to be in there for anything (or with the wife there) I'll pick up some 3-pack budget gel from Michael's crafts store.

it's actually pretty decent and has always held my stuff together without killing anything. Brand name doesn't always equal better product.

No, they went bankrupt cause that is what they were putting their cars together with and they are all over priced

I guess i will stick with my loctite blue cap gel. Fragged over 30 zoas last week and only had 1 problem. I zoa fall off. All other zoas have opened up within 1-2 days of fragging and are on there way to recovery! Did find the missing polyp and re-glued it back on!
