So i'd like to try to frag my 3 mouth green florida ric and ran into a few bumps.
1) hes really tightly bonded to a very small piece of rock, so its practically impossible to get between the rice and the rock with a razor to split its footing on the rock, would it be safe to try to force peel it off?
2)hes a pretty small guy too, (like the size of a quarter) if I miss one of the mouths while cutting, will it die?

wouldnt you cut inbetween the mouths so you have a mouth on each frag? o | o | o <-- lines=cuts
i would cut the polyp down to the foot then cut the small rock with cutting pliers.
i would not try to peel it off the rock as it might damage it. HTH

yep junyoungmin did a great job explaining it. But to answer your question, if you miss one of the mouths it will be fine, it will always grow a new one, well at least thats what has always happened for me.

make the incisions stated above. Then like he said use wire cutters, or hammer + chisel.

The above will work too
Never done it this way but maybe needle nose pliers to hold the small frag and a dremmel after you sliced them but its probably best to let the cuts heal then do this at a later date so you don't stress it too much

I use a diamond tip dremel wheel and cut through the ric and the rock in one shot. Two cuts and you should have three rics already mounted on seperate rocks.
