ohmy.gif I've never seen a green one

Although I think they snack on small mollusks and crustaceans :/
Jacobnano

I have decided no plants for me. I liked them, but I like no algae and crystal clear water more.
Squared
nice dude but where do you get all these coldwater critters?
Jacobnano
Thanks smile.gif

I get them from my cabin, in the San Juans.
Squared
huh.gif Cabin?
Jacobnano
Yea, my family owns a cabin there. It is on the coast of one of the islands smile.gif

Thanks! Nope unfortunately I think they kept swimming into things, anemones, crab claws etc...

I just have one little sculpin (bullhead) right now...
animalmaster6

Yea it was a bummer.

Bummer, the weekend hasn't even started though!
animalmaster6
Are you going to try to get more when you go the cabin? Also lumpsucker.............

It's 2 hours away and the weather conditions were terrible. 100% chance of precipitation with extreme icy weather warnings. Low 20s lol. Not the best beach day.

Probably. I like anemones and inverts more than most fish. Yeaaa, they are pretty rare, finding one would still be cool though.

Psssh low 20s, weaaaaak. It was -9 here haha. But yea, not the best beach day.
animalmaster6
Fish are my better tongue.gif I do love my inverts though.

I can deal with the temperature but pooring rain and snow is impossible to deal with.

That was one of the best temperate aquariums I've seen. happy.gif

Yea I dunno.

It was pretty nice. If you like the plant based theme. I am kind of used to that though, since my cabin has a lot of macros laugh.gif
animalmaster6
My favorite part of the tank was the huge variety of fish and invert life.
Jacobnano
Very true very true. I need to get scuba certified...
animalmaster6
I want to get SCUBA certified in the summer. It's key to viewing the interesting marine life. That and good goggles biggrin.gif
Jacobnano
I do as well. I am hoping I can before this summer actually. That way I can intern more easily biggrin.gif
animalmaster6
Spring would be nice. THe sooner the better happy.gif
Jacobnano
Of course.

Your tank is sooooo much better looking than when you first started.....and I'm not surprised that you've realized growing macros comes with a heavy maintenance price. I, too, stopped growing macros after about a year. Your tank really needs some color though.....and you're not going to find it in tidepools. Get certified and the whole game changes.

I have three of these in my tank and I'd gladly give you one or two of them. One is about 4 inches in diameter and one is a baby at about 2 inches.

Thanks smile.gif Yea I guess it does, then again I like how it looks right now too, I have always been fascinated by these little guys. I hope to get certified sometime soon, it would be a pretty big advantage.

Hey Steve, if you ever have some free time (I understand you are a pretty busy guy) I would love to see your set-ups in person. We live pretty close I believe laugh.gif
yoshii
Just wondering Jacob, have you seen any of these nems?

On the stalk they have a green base, with a few bright orange stripes
Jacobnano
Maybe. I am thinking know, then again, I may have. Where do they live, and what are they called?

Maybe we can make a field trip day of it and get all of us coldwater people together to go to Steves so he only has to show us once laugh.gif

Well let me know when you can make it down towards Portland, I live just outside of the metro area. I'll make sure I have the time to go over there, I have been wanting to see Steves setups for a while also.
