This whole thread seems rather silly to me. It was started three days after the order was placed. I'd expect a couple days from order to shipment. If it is a small place, with limited staff (I don't know about Aqua Cave), then maybe up to a week if they are slammed at that time. Only allowing three days (including a delay that you introduced) seems silly. I'd bet it arrives in the next few days. That means that you made an order, introduced a delay into the process, and still recieved it within two weeks. Sounds pretty standard.
The lack of communication would be frustrating, but if they are busy, I could see them putting the emphasis on shipping the order, rather than e-mailing about it.
The daily count is pretty unnecessary. My two cents.
Maybe a mod should close, oh, wait....
I fixed the address problem the same day I was notified. The change went into effect, instantaneously.
If they were hammered with orders (or an item was out of stock temporarily), I would have completely understood--all I needed was an email stating such. Not that I'm requesting it, but whenever I have a order that is delayed (our fault or not), I immediately upgrade the shipping rate to match the reasonable expectation of the customer.
Enrico sent me tracking yesterday afternoon with a UPS tracking number. The estimated arrival date is July 28. Transit time, I can live with--7 days to process the order is a different story.
And don't give me any nonsense about being a moderator. In the 6+ years I've been doing this, I've never abused my status.
The purpose of the Vendor forum is to allow members to share vendor experiences with the other members. In this thread, I've shared the following crucial information to others, thinking about purchasing from Aquacave.
1. Make sure your ship-to address is linked to your credit card.
2. You may experience delays in receiving your order.
I could have placed the order with MarineDepot and I guarantee you, my order would have been processed, shipped, and into my hands the next day. Instead, I frequently choose to support our smaller sponsors, like AquaCave that keep sites like NR free for all of us.
As I've already mentioned, the equipment I purchased is a vital piece to the system I'm building. I don't know if you've been paying attention, but the odds are, I didn't order a $10 air pump.
In the end, I'm most likely going to place an even larger order with AquaCave on Tuesday... so whatever. Their pricing (with 5% coupon code discount, and free shipping) is excellent.
Now I know what to expect.
