So...how does the bulb look?

SOOOOOOOO we decided to go to MACNA this weekend ... lol ... first played a concert in Philly and on our way home we decided to stop and have dinner with a couple friends (also have enormous reef tanks) ... they managed to convince us to go. We left 2am ... arrived around 4:30 ... hit the poker and blackjack tables ... got some extra $$ for MACNA ... We arrived 8am for the first speaker at MACNA ... COMPLETELY passed out on it ... also ... NEVER EVER have a spicy eating contest at 6 in the morning ... between looking at the booths and keeping my breakfast down ... NOT FUN! Saw some nice stuff ... ORA, Liveaquaria, Brightwells ... etc.etc. Didn't buy anything though ... didn't see all that much I actually wanted ... plus I don't have that much room for some of it ... thank god my stomach was also feeling like crap ... helped curb the buying of corals.

Oh so I bought an USHIO 20K bulb ... It turned out the bulb in my fixture was actually an USHIO 14K ... it was sooooo yellow, Haut can testify.

Overall ... I wasn't overly impressed ... but that's just me ... the ORA tanks were nice ... but the corals were kinda bleached which they said as well ... the acrylic tank was just built for them and they thought something may be leaking into it ... plus all of the pieces were already sold to Ocean Gallery in NJ ... so I couldn't get my Blue Iris

It could also have been the fact it was the final day of the show and everyone was just really tired ... I dunno ... I loved the 7-8ft tall skimmer though ... I have that being delivered this afternoon ... lol ... j/k ... The new skimmers that are coming up are awesome ... Deltec etc.etc. I loved what I saw as far as the equipment was concerned ... but corals ... eh ... nothing I can't find on a regular basis.

Sounds like you had a great unplanned trip either way. Late night drinking and spicy eating contents the next morning never spells fun walking around all day...that and it usually does a number on the ol' GI tract

Actually I think they only had 2 cones out when I was there ... Eshopps and some other company ... I don't remember which ... no Vertex or anything like that ... If I upgrade I may go with something like this.

you should use the 75g as a massive beach/fuge with mangroves and macros and everything. THAT WOULD BE TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

So I don't think we got an answer. Are you moving across the country? Kinda sad seeing your 120 get taken down, but that new tank... You should do a central overflow with four sides being viewable!!! The 36" depth practically begs for this!

After a little break and getting my tank ... the 120 not the 180 ... lol ... long story ... but in the end we were not going to get it in the door ... We fell short a few inches ... but ... who cares ... the 120 rocks anyways ... lol ... Big thanks to Anne (ap123) and MR member TomToothDoc for holding my livestock ... I am in the process of getting the 120 back online ... so many new ideas ... that I am carefully thinking out ... Today, installing new plumbing ... to make the tank ultra quiet ... my new landlords don't know I have this in here. SHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Pictures to come of the new place ... I have so much room for all my fish cr@p ... it's awesome ... four shelves already filled with additives and fish food ... lol ...

I have a new light fixture 2x250W ... with 4 T-5's. Upgrading me return pump ... not sure to what yet ... checking into some external units since my sump has been drilled to use one all this time ... but we'll see.

Anyways ... it was nice to take a short break from the hobby ... but I am really starting to miss it.
