Hello, amazing tank. What’s the benefit of the mud? I’m planning on having 2 overflow Zen gardens to have all types of macros in there and I was debating between DSB or mud.

Hey Makoy ... Where you been? Did you get temporarily banned after the last incident?

Liveaquaria has them on sale 16.99 plus shipping ... but with their reputation and the 14 day guarantee makes the fish more then worth it!

Thank you very much!!! Thank you for visiting my thread ... To be 100% honest with you ... I had never tried the mud before ... I remember when Ecosystem came out with their whole fuge system ... and it was the talk of the town ... So after trying DSB's for a while ... I finally mustered up the courage to try the fiji mud. I have a good 6" of sand ... with about 2" of mud on top of that ... This fuge seems to be infinitely healthier since I added the mud ... Nicer growth and colors of my sea grass plus healthier looking mangroves ... I got them to grow in my previous fuge but only to a certain point then they stopped and started to die off.

Greg Hiller's Aquadelight (the piece is nicer then Hiller's himself)
Bali Green Slimer (Greenest color i have ever seen!)
GIGANTIC Purple Polyped B'nest colony (the thing is probably 8x10 or so ... it's enormous ... lol ... his tank kinda looked empty on one side when he pulled the thing out ... I felt bad!

I am going to have to add one!!! I was just thinking about that yesterday ... I will get around to it hopefully at some point this morning. It's funny ... compared to like a year ago ... the price of ORA frags have come down quite a bit ... first released ... those Plum Crazy and Voodoo Stags were selling like 70-80 per frag along with a load of other ones.
There is another piece I want .... the ORA Aussie Delicate ... LFS is going to have a 20% sale on this specific piece ... going to try and pick one up Saturday.

Fully agreed ... ORA has some of the best frags around ... I don't understand why some of the guys around here buy these wild colonies (well I know they just want to make money fragging them up) ... 90% of the ones I see RTN/STN (depends on the species of Acropora) Just my 2cents on it ... plus they can come in with some really nasty buggers you definitely do NOT want in your tank.
Oh the Blue Soli ... which one is it exactly? I know one of the collectors pieces off the top of my head ... maybe it's the same one. It's really beautiful! Having the $500 Efflo is cool and all ... but to wait for that one tiny little piece ... lol $125 per half inch or something like that ... I have to convince my friend to cut a piece of it!

I am really really really considering exchanging my Euroreef for one of those ATB cone skimmers or something better ... Deltec perhaps ... which all these nice pieces growing and such it would be a wise decision to get some really high class equipment as well. I find myself constantly reading the old SPS color thread you wrote on MR ... with Pseudo's (Kasei) great post concerning SPS. Seriously ... we need him back on that board ... those noobs over there are really messing stuff up. lol.

Hook me up man!
I still got my Blue Face indeed! He is behaving himself ... doesn't touch ANYTHING. No interest in SPS or LPS what-so-ever ... and I got some LARGE LPS in there with him as well ... Duncans, Torches ... Elegance ... doesn't show any interest in them! Perfect reef citizen!

David I don't really give advice on there anymore. No one listens to nano reefers anyway

As for your skimmer upgrade, compare the airflow the produce. Forget about deltec. You'll pay a fortune for a skimmer that gets out-performed by skimmers half the price. I only use a deltec on my nano because I don't have as many options.
On my 120 I was very happy with the ati bubblemaster 250. It produce 30LMP and kept up with my high bioload. I'm a little out of the loop with the new skimmers so I'm not exactly sure which one you should go with.
FYI Did I mention that your 120 canopy was the one from my 120?

I loved how the whole front can come off so you can easily work in the tank.
