My favorite fish in the aquarium ... without a doubt ... The Male is a bit of a bully ... especially towards the Wrasses ... doesn't like them swimming in "his space" ... and chases them back to the lower part of the aquarium. He also occasionally picks on the Powder Blue Tang ... just to show who is the real boss of the tank!

Absolutely! The Bellus Female is really the eye catcher ... the male is cool in it's own right ... the fact that this guy actually is alive! lol ... Most of the males (from what I have seen and heard) do very poorly in the home aquarium. Just like the Wantanabe!

You can tell the monti isn't brown. It may not be as vivid as in person, but it doesn't look brown.

I finally got around to fixing the frags on the left side of the tank that were just loose and waiting to be knocked off by the long spine urchin!

I'm happy to report the tank is continuing to do well.

I thought I would get to take and post some pics this weekend, but once again, it's been way busier than I'd like.

The pink poci frag is finally starting to show some polyps. And there's a weird sponge growing out from the pipe organ now. Kinda cool, and doesn't appear to be irritating the pipe in any way. I'm thinking about moving the red cap, to the far right, midway down. It's growing so fast, it's going to take up all the real estate on top.

I made a little frag rack a couple of weeks ago.

Awesome!!! Poci's are always weird like that ... at least for me ... same with the Stylophoras ... I keep mine in the lower half of the tank ... there is a nice current ... and full PE all day long.

Monti caps once they take hold ... grow out soooooo fast!!! Time to start fragging that stuff up!!! Frags = $$$ = more corals ... lol. Just gotta break off a small piece and there you go!

Yup, used a mag float I got from David when I bought the tank. It's a stroooooong magnet, that I could never quite control nicely, so I superglued a little piece of eggcrate, and voila!

Such a pretty reef already!

Looking forward to watching it continue to fill in!

Well where shall I begin?!

First off ... thank you for the Birthday wishes ... even though it is last year ( ) by the time I am posting this ... I apologize for my leave of absence on this board ... things have been sooooooo busy lately I haven't had too much time to sit down and relax ... and looking at my schedule for the next few months ... still won't have too much time ... what can you do?

The tank has been doing insanely well these days ... even with my absence ... the less I touch the tank the better it seems to do ... go figure ... I beefed up my fuge with a HUGE amount of Chaeto which I was fortunate enough to receive for free from a local reefer ... I dropped the vodka dosing as it really didn't seem to be doing too much for my system this time around ... probably due to the lighter bioload on this tank ... Since I haven't been home I stuck some 10K's into my MH fixture ... the growth under those things is AMAZING! The colors suck though ... lol ... so now I replaced those with a pair of Phoenix 14k's ... ahhhhh ... so pleasing to the eye!

The system is running really well ... not looking to add anything else ... as I have no more available space (room for growth included) ... so now it's just watching the system develop and to see how far I can take this tank. I am going to get some pictures up sometime soon to show the tanks development.

I had a minor Cyano outbreak as I do every year ... same time of the year ... blah ... what can you do? I picked up a Deltec Fludized Reactor to run my RoWaphos in ... going to hook that up tonight! YAY!

Looks incredible man. Glad to see you back around here....I was a little absent as well over the last two months due to the business of the holidays as well as being slammed busy at work lately.

sorry been having a terrible time keeping up with threads lately!

Thanks Adam! Yeah ... things have just been crazy ... and getting crazier ... all for the greater good ... or the death of me ... I am not quite sure which ... only time will tell!
The corals have been doing so well these days ... haven't had any real problems ... only occasionally the long spine urchin knocks over a frag ... but past that ... nothing.

Just set up my Deltec reactor last night ... Ok ... not that I am going to become hooked on these things since they are ridiculously $$$ ... the way this works compared to any other reactor is amazing! I can't imagine using a two-little-fishies Phosban reactor ever again ... lol. Luckily I found someone selling one pretty cheap ... $100 ... the guy kept it in ABSOLUTE perfect condition ... with the instructions when he bought it 5-6 years ago. lol. I took advantage of Marine Depots New Years Sale and ended up buying 1000ml of Rowaphos for $70 and 4lbs. of ESV Carbon for 25 ... I thought that was a pretty good find!

Thanks David The tank is coming along very nicely ... but I am honest about it ... it's still a tank full of large frags, a few larger colonies ... I want to see it in a years time to see how everything comes along! I do enjoy watching every piece grow though ... I guess it's a sense of accomplishment. SPS = pain in my arse. lol, but I love them so much so what can I do?!



That cap ... even though an ordinary Orange Cap ... is my favorite of the tank! It's a gorgeous showpieces! It's encrusting up the side of my glass now! I am sure you have a piece ... but if you are ever interested I could frag you a nice size chunk and ship it to ya. DCG LE RIDICULOUS RARE SINCE IT'S IN MY TANK TROPICANA ORANGE JUICE WITH LOTS O PULP ORANGE MONTI CAP. How's that for ya?!
