Do you have any pics of the Fuzzy Chitions?

And some of the pics are dead sad.gif tears01.gif (Look 1 pic post in front of the most recent pic post)

No I don't but I'll try to get some. I don't see it around that much. It kinda blends in with the rocks. All my emerald crabs ate all the fuzzies off.

How's the new wrasse doing?

How's the new wrasse doing?

He's doing great. He's established himself as the dominant wrasse in the tank. He pretty much killed the melanurus wrasse because it was scared to hunt for food. He just stayed on the top just swimming around. It was too scared to eat when I try feeding it because the other fish would just go to where the food was. I just saw it one day as crab food. My mystery wrasse used to go after the ornate wrasse when I first put it in, but now it is also scared of it.
animalmaster6
I'm glad he's doing good!

That's too bad about the Melanurus Wrasse though. Which wrasse do you like better?

I like the ornate wrasse the most. He is just alot more colorful than the Melanurus. They pretty much act and swim around the same way. The mystery is pretty cool too but yeah the ornate is the best looking one for sure. I love how its stripes looks like it's shimmering when he swims around.

Well at least you like the top killer better lol smile.gif

laugh.gif Yeah although I never seen him take a bite out of any one. I think just his presence scares all the other fish away. The mystery was actually the really mean one until this one came in.

Yeah for 120g I seem to have ran out of room really quick. There are alot of people with smaller tanks that seem to have alot more stuff. I think my scaping and deep sand bed really took alot of the space away.

I will try to take one today. I am going to do my first water change with the new Tropic Marin Bio-Actif salt and I want to take some before shots to compare the results after a few water changes. I'm just waiting for the main lights to go on.

Does the Mystery still bother anyone?

Not really. He just kinda swims around and stays away from the ornate wrasse. I haven't added any new few, and I probably won't anymore, so I can't say he is not a bully anymore. He never really bother the other fish, which were all added before him. He only attacks any new fish added to the tank, especially wrasses. He probably ate all my shrimps though.
animalmaster6
That'd the problem with them. THey will eat inverts and very small fish.

Hey, great tank, I'm planning on getting the oceanic 105 gallon. And will be pretty much using your same setups. One question though, where did you get your fuge/sump?

Thank you. The fuge/sump was custom built. I ordered it thru Aquarium City in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Anyway, I have been quite busy this month to update but I have added quite a ton of stuff in the tank. I have been spending way too much again. Here are some of the new additions that I was able to take photos of. There are still a few more that I added but I just haven't had much time to take photos of them.

Here's a couple free Purple Hornets that I got from Sexy Corals for placing an order. Unfortunately all I have now is just this photo. They were open for a few days and they just closed up and melted away. My tank hates Zoos. =(

Some favias from Sexy Corals. Here's their bright Green Hornet Favia.

Sexy Coral's Angel Eye Favia

Tyree Mia's Pot of Gold Favia

Acans from Sexy Corals

Sexy Coral's Pink Fame Watermelon Chalice

Austin Aqua Farm's Dragon Skin Acan

Few more Acans from Austin Aqua Farm

That's all the photos for now. I still have a few acans, lobos, and a wilsoni that I got that I haven't taken photos of. I probably won't get to that for a while. I have like 400+ of photos to process from my vacation. Also, unfortunately I have been battling PM with my clams. So far I have lost a few small ones. The rest looks to be showing some signs of recovering but still some pinching. I've already dipped twice but I was away all of last week and I haven't been able to do another. So I came back to two dead little clams. Gonna have to dip again tomorrow or the next day. I hate this so much. Crap like this really just ruins my enjoyment of this hobby.

Thank you. That really means alot especially with all the problems I've been having with it as far a PM goes. I would just like to just sit back and enjoy it right now that I'm "officially" taking a break from adding any more stuff. It's so hard to look at all my clams all shriveled up. Hopefully I can get thru it without anymore losses. Everything else looks great though.

BTW, is that the Kentucky Kid on your avatar?

Hey sorry to hear about your problems. The pictures of your acans are so nice and that chalice it one of the prettest I have ever seen.
Good luck I hope it gets better for you and your clams.

Thanks Cheryl. Yeah it's a pain. My acans are the only ones keeping me sane right now. They're keeping my eyes away from the clams so I'm not so preoccuppied with how they are doing. The chalice is nice. I'm not a chalice person, but I couldn't pass it up especially with the deal that I got. Still don't think I caught the chalice bug even with this beauty. Thank god, since I'm still not over my acan and clam addictions right now (although I've been forced to kick the clam addiction indefinitely). laugh.gif

The tank is looking stunning!!!! FTS?

I love all the acans and favias especially the Angel Eye.

Very sorry to hear about your clams sad.gif PM is such a pain I hope I don't run into it.

Thanks AM. I'll work on getting that FTS. With the PM, I don't really feel like showing the whole tank but the clams looks like they are coming around. So hopefully they make a full recovery soon.

Yeah I kinda caught the acan addiction. Actually more like an LPS addiction. I've been getting some lobos and a wilsoni too. I'm still trying to get a scoly. Just too expensive for the ones I want. I'm not much into SPS anymore. Well, a few pieces here and there are nice but it's not like I want to really get them that bad. LPS are more fun and I love being able to interact with them by feeding them. I'll try to take some more photos of the other new additions. This weekend is just going to be really busy. So most likely next week.
animalmaster6
I'm getting so much into LPS I can't wait to get a bunch. I'm working on how to frag wilsonis and acans. The hard ones I think.

Not much happening with the tank but battling a few problems. Still dealing with PM. It's slowly getting better but I've lost most of my clams. I have some LPS (mostly my chalices) receding and have some cyano growing on a few spots. No fun right now. Also, I lost one of my female lyretail anthias. Probably due to stress of being chased by the male constantly.

As for new additions, I've added only a couple scolymias and that's about it. Caught the scolymia bug too but I'm pretty much broke. So I'm gonna settle down for a while. I'll try to take some photos of my lastest additions when I get some free time.
animalmaster6
Sorry to hear sad.gif

You got so many clams and you lost most of them? sad.gif
guia x
Yeah i used to have about 25 at one point but now I'm down to 9. All the small ones, except two, are gone. The others are the 3-4" ones. I'm just glad I still have the blue teardrop as that is my favorite. Atleast I know what going on with the clams. I don't know what's wrong with my LPS. My chalices and favias are all receding. Only thing I could think of is that my water got too clean with the new TM Bioactif salt and the Biopellets. I've been feeding alot but now have cyano growing on some parts of my tank. I need to scoop them out as they are competing for the nutrients. I just haven't had much time to fix what's wrong with the tank lately but I have to get on it before I crash it.
animalmaster6
TM Bio Actif salt? I think I'm going to use that salt.

guia x
Yeah TM Bio Actif salt. It looks like it's working as advertised. I still have cyano but I think I could fix that by adding more flow to the tank. The cyano is pretty much only on one side of the tank which I suspect doesn't have much flow. It's also the only part of the tank that zoas like to grow in so the nutrients must like to collect on that part of the tank. I plan on adding another vortech pump. I think an MP10wES or two. I don't have the money for it yet so I'll just put my korallia 1 in for now and see how that works. If it helps then I know I really need to add more flow.

I've been feeding my sun coral tank quite heavily lately too. I've been feeding cyclopeze and phyto feast everyday and I put alot. There is not a single spot of cyano in there since I have alot of flow going with the two MP10wES.

Also, I used to have alot of cyano in my 28g nanocube but now since switching to TM Bio Actif, I don't have any in there anymore. So I know the salt is working well.
