I think people pick the 125 because it's a nice starter for the 6 ft+ length realm.
The 125 is a great size. I would get another one in a heartbeat if I found a good deal. I hate that I got rid of mine, but it was getting old and it was taking up space in the garage.

I like both of the fish pairs you've added. Nice choices. Cool video too. Videos do much better showing off a 6' tank than photos can. I need to borrow my buddies HD video camera.

Sounds like you've had some rough times sad.gif

It looks very good though smile.gif I love the fish choices. What's the current fish list?

And yes a 125 club sounds awesome!!

I would love to work in LED night lights and/or 6' actinics in addition to my current MH lighting.

Just saw this post in the general section. Don't waste your money on full 6' lamps, 4' lamps cover a 6' tank just fine for something like actinic supplementation.
revaltion131
Thanks for the kind words.

I actually already have a pair of 6' bulbs and sockets that came with the MH sockets and reflectors just sitting around. I still haven't used them because they don't fit well under the canopy. I may go the 4' route because the fitting issue was length. Thanks for the recommendation. Maybe I can find someone that wants to trade...

I can understand the needing to sell because it's taking up space thing. Even after a move and huge clear out of my crap before that move, I have a lot of junk just sitting in containers and boxes, tank related or otherwise. A six foot tank just sitting unused is definitely something that's got to go, especially if you can bring in a couple hundred for it.

Animalmaster, my current list is:

2 Cleaner Gobies
1 M/F Saddleback Clown pair
1 M/F Bellus Angel pair
1 M Lubbock's Wrasse

Still to come, ideally, are a Potter's and Nox angel, a pair or trio of Pyle's Fairies, and a Chocolate Tang. I would still like to work in some Lyretail anthias but it's starting to look a little crowded and of what I have left on my list, they're probably the least desired.

Here's an SPS quandry for you all. I have this unknown acro, looks maybe like it might have some kind of stag-like growth pattern, that I can't figure out the color on. Obviously there's plenty of brown going on here. The coral is probably about 18" under the light. The tips are almost a glowing blue/purple color but as you can see, the base is not-so-much. What are your thoughts on this guy?

And finally, here's a pic of the work done on the back of the canopy to seal it up against jumpers.

animalmaster6
I dunno what the SPS is but I like it.
revaltion131
Well the SPS is really taking to super-high light. The glowing color at the tips is finally spreading to the rest of the coral as I popped it up to the top of my tank.

I have a major concern with my fish, however. My bellus pair seem to have some cloudy-eye going back and forth between them, just noticed this morning. No other fish seem to have it but it's hard to tell with the clowns and obviously near impossible with the gobies. I know it's hard to tell with no pictures (can't get the camera to focus or them to hold still) but does anyone have a guess at what it may be? My treatment thus far is to add garlic to their food. They both ate with their normal vigor so I'm hoping it's something akin to pop-eye and will go away with a good dose of garlic supplement. FWIW, my water parameters are all in order, nothing else looks ill, and today is WC day.
Oceanus
What's their diet?

Could be bacterial.
animalmaster6
Glad to hera about the SPS.

Definetly try some garlic for the Bellus.

I agree it could be bacterial.
revaltion131
It could easily be bacterial and that's what I'm leaning toward. They're eating a pretty good variety, at least 2 times a day, most days 3. I switch between F1 and F2 flakes, as well as a mysis/sponge mix of frozen food. I add Vitachem to the food and added in a garlic supplement for this evening. They are eating like pigs, so there's no lack of interest in food. There's no difference in alertness and they don't look lethargic. The only thing I'm alarmed about besides the symptom is that the female is trying to get cleaned by the gobies and she doesn't normally care for them.
revaltion131
Well, my bellus female was starting to look up yesterday and this morning she looked like she was on her last leg so I caught her out and put her into QT. I'm really not sure what's going on. The visual symptoms of some kind of bacterial infection had subsided but because that's what she had most recently had going on, I'm running her through the 5-day treatment of maracyn 2. I don't have much hope because she's not really moving BUT her breathing is very steady and doesn't seem labored. Wish her luck!
animalmaster6
THat's really weird.

I would post this in the Disease and Pest treatment section.

Good Luck Mrs. Bellus Angel!!!
revaltion131
She must have had some kind of systemic thing. When I bought them, they had been QT'd for ~3 weeks already and both treated for some fungal stuff. The male's doing great but you could tell the female wasn't quite there. She was starting to fill out nicely so it wasn't a gastrointestinal parasite and she hasn't shown signs of flukes.
revaltion131
I have been putting off spending extra money on this tank. Too bad, I caved and went by the LFS today. They had two teeny tiny finspots (Xenojulis margaritacea) and I couldn't pass them up. I'm not overly optimistic (which is tough because I'm the eternal optimist) because they are so small and the green one is pretty scrawny. They both ate already. I'll post a video when I find the cable for my camera.
animalmaster6
Wow those are incredible wrasses! Nice score!
revaltion131
Thanks. I wish I had gotten a good picture of my old male before I lost him. If you go back and look at the thread for my 65 (linked on the first page), you can see him as a female when I got her at about 3" or so. They're deceiving as females but the males are crazy. This is about the best picture I ever got. He was almost 6" when I lost him.

animalmaster6
Awesome!!! smile.gif

Finally, the video.

I'll be thrilled when I finally figure out how to embed the videos with this forum module.
animalmaster6
That is so cool!
revaltion131
Thanks. They're doing a lot better than I thought they would, as well as staying together more. Nobody's picking on them and they haven't wound up in the overflow, yet.
animalmaster6
Do you have a fish saver?
