DHaut
and had an accident with the super glue that might have killed them all mad.gif
Mr. Fosi
That sux. mellow.gif

Were you using gel?
DHaut
no. hence the problem. It would have been fine if the frag plug hadn't flipped over.
Kraylen
Im confused, but also fragged zoas today.
DHaut
oh well. it was only 4 small AOG polyps. good thing they grow like weeds in my tank.
Needreefunds
don't toss 'em yet D

I had some I thought for sure were toast from the gel - and they recovered.

DHaut
sorry Kray - I put the polyps on the plug in the glue and knocked the plug over, smearing glue all over everything.

nah, they're in the tank richie. we'll see.

I need a lesson from the master! I felt like such an idiot. It was like, "I'm doing it! I'm doing it!....*** ***** * ******* ***** * *************!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Kylebeano
good thing about zoanthids and superglue gel is that the coral will slime up and you can slide the hardened glue right off biggrin.gif well thats my experience anyway!

yeah same thing here. i forgot what type of zoas i bought them they were on a cheap frag so i cut them off put gel on the frag and when i was about to put the zoas on the plug they flipped and pretty much glued them on upside down i was like ******** there goes $30. so then i just flipped them over and reglued it. after that they do slim like crazy and i just pulled the hard glue off of like 6 zoas and 3 hours later looked great.

I accidentally used a super glue that was cyanoacrylate (sp?) but not gel. It almost completely covered a frag of 3 polpys of tubb blues. I put them in the tank anyway. In a few days they had sloughed off the "glue shell" and are now reproducing nicely. Hopefully yours will be as resilient.
DHaut
Yeah, I know one polyp is ok, for sure. I'll see how the rest are doing when I get home.
DHaut
A couple polyps looks like the were alright yesterday. I pulled off some dried glue and hopefully freed up the other polyps to open. We'll see.
