I will hopefully be setting up a Red Sea MAX 130D soon. I wanted to do either Caribbean shallow reef or a Pacific deep reef. My question was if the MAX could support this.
If I did the Caribbean reef there would be significant amounts of algea and I'm worried that they would consume & lower the tanks oxgen levels dangerously low at night. Would the stock protein skimmer provide enough aeration at night?
If I did the Pacific reef it would be dominated by Sun Corals & Tube Anemones (not photosynthetic), so there would be great daily food inputs. I would be doing 25% weekly water changes, but I was worried that the tank couldn't keep up with the nutrient input. Would the water changes & stock skimmer handle this?
Thanks for the help!
