Dude, I can't. It's kinda hooked up and running, y'know.
And I'm busy playing PS3...... so you'll just need to find the manual or something. tongue.gif

+1 on dipping hose in hot water but also put a lil vegetable oil on the barb. I dont know about temperate tanks but I used clear hose on one of mine. It ended up growing algae in it and restricting the flow.

Thanks for the tips. I recently read about algae growing in the clear tubes.. We'll see how it goes and if stuff starts growing in there, it should be too much trouble to change out with black tubing.

the manual sucks twat
Lalani
lol... OC doesn't know what she started with that one..
xbwolfx
did you use the same size tubing for the inlet and outlet?

the website says Inlet: 1/2" and Outlet: 5/8" Barb....

but the barbs are both the same size (accept 1/2 and 5/8)
Lalani
Yeah, I used the same size tubing for the whole thing - 1/2 inch internal diameter. Both of the barbed input/output thingamabobs are the same size on mine.
xbwolfx
idk what i just used, but i used bigger tube on the input and smaller on the output.

meh.
maysorum
hi. quick question: have you experienced any condensation issues?
Lalani
Hi smile.gif
When the chiller is set to 58F, there are no problems at all with condensation. My central air conditioner is set to 75F. Now, when I was testing the chiller and the water temp got down to around 55F, that's when I started seeing condensation.

I can't wait to see pics of some strawberries!

i need to get a chiller because i live in the Puget sound and live stock would be free now i want one to
Mini_GBR
That is a very slick, clean setup. Can't wait to see it progress and get stocked. I have a feeling this thing is going to be awesome
JLwaves
Looking forward to seeing this stocked and set up.
Lalani
Thanks, guys.. talking about getting livestock in the near future. scarry01.gif

Interesting - looks like my 100g African Cichlid tank! I love the river stones - what critters do you plan on stocking with when your ready?
notwithit
I love the idea and the stones! I had the priviledge of raising about 50 baby chinook salmon when I lived in western washington in my 40 gallon tall. Got some rock from the river, river water, and set up a big ol canister fluval outside in the garage for it all.

Your setup makes me hearken back to those days.... mellow.gif

Such a fun idea!!!

Corynactis (strawberry nems) to start off with.. and anything else I can get my hands on that will work in a 10 gal.

Get them!!!!
Lalani
I just emailed the LFS, asking them to hold the nems for me. $40 each isn't bad, right? My LFSs are usually insanely overpriced.. Going to go check them out tomorrow most likely.

I have a proposition for you. We need to talk. wink.gif

So, I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place, but I'm just wondering, do you not need such intense light for CW tanks? It doesn't seem like you're running any thing to "fancy." So the only expensive part of setting one of these up is the chiller? (and stocking it of course.)

I'm sure some CW livestock require higher lighting, but the type of nems that I want to keep really aren't picky at all. I'm still very much a CW noob, lol. Basically, they don't require high lighting, but do require being fed a couple times a week at least. smile.gif
Yeah, a chiller and insulation around the tank to keep the temp stable are probably most important.
Psychosis
Now I'm torn between a new Maco tank and a Cold Water...

Thanks for the info Lalani. The tank is looking beast, by the way. I'm seeing a sexy tank in the not to distant future.

I don't know if I missed something but why is everyone changing their avatars???

Also, I can hook you up with coldwater fish smile.gif
Jacobnano
O ok thanks. Weird lol. I like to bother pickle too much, I don't think I will participate wink.gif
Lalani
They're home. smile.gif

I turned off the chiller to the cw tank last night and let the water get up to room temp, since the nems have been kept in tropical temps. The LFS owner removed the smaller one (size of a gumball) from the rocks, so it's free floating, but the larger (3x the size, at least) is attached to a piece of LR. Despite the conditions, they are looking great! Deep red color and healthy. I'll slowly bring the water temp down over the next couple of weeks and keep an eye on them.

hahah sexy nemssss biggrin.gif
Lalani
Yeah, I think most people, who read my threads, know my name. wink.gif

And yes, they are beautimous. wub.gif

So colorful! If only aiptasia looked nice like your waratahs, then I wouldn't be so annoyed by them.
yardboy
I have something goofy to say here, so hopefully you will take it in jest and not be offended.
First, I found this nem at the jetties in PCB, and it looks quite a bit like the nems you got from the lfs at tropical temperature. I know I'm not the photographer you are so you may not see the resemblance, but thought it was interesting anyway.

Secondly, while I've known your real name for a long time, I've continued to use your "stage name" so I can enjoy the weird confusion my brain has when I think of you as a beautiful polynesian princess living in a bayou swamp in Louisiana (maybe with some connection to Jack Sparrow) rather than the rich, beautiful heiress to a toilet paper kingdom.

That nem definitely looks similar. Do you have any other pics of it?
Haha, yeah, quite a few people on the net have assumed that I'm Hawaiian or from some other exotic location. It's fun. And lol@rich heiress to toilet paper kingdom. tongue.gif

No one knows my name. Internet Ninja.

The new nems look great, and the name sounds so familiar for some reason. I think I might have seen some in the wild, but on the other hand, I don't think there from California, which is where I would have seen it.

Well, in any case, sexy 'nems. Speaking of sexy, you need a tiny cold water shrimp. I think that would scream "Lalani's tank."
yardboy
The livestock in my jetties tank have an often annoying habit of taking up residence in areas of the tank that make it difficult to get photo's of them, couple with my lack of camera skillz, but here's the collection I made that day

Glad you could lol at my comment. I think I'll go watch Pirates of the Caribbean again.

Waratahs are an Australian species. And hmmm, I'll have to look into small CW shrimp.

Heh, I think everybody has livestock that likes to misbehave like that. If it ever comes out into the open, I expect more pics. biggrin.gif

It's a super secret tongue.gif.

Holy crap. Every once in a while I see you name and have flashbacks to promiseing to send you some of those orange ball 'nems.

Haha well, I saw red nem's in a pool any way. Unless I had an awesome out of body experience, they couldn't have been waraths.

I'll try and find you some cold water shrimp. I've got ze connections.
Jacobnano
I know your name Psychosis lol. Lani, I can probably send you some shrimp/nems /any other sweet coldwater stuff later this summer. I just need to know how to box it and keep it cold haha.
Lalani
PMs are super secret. wink.gif

Oh, ha.. I forgot about the corys. The 5.5gal is dedicated to the few that I have.
Connections, eh? flower.gif

I'll keep that in mind, Jacob, thanks!
Psychosis
Lol I got a new piece of LR that's just coated in them, a few that are larger than any others I've ever seen. Say the word and there all yours. I don't want them stinging/ getting stung by the LPS I'm suddenly obsessed with.

Haha not the most reliable Connections, but yes, connections. I'll keep you posted on the tiny shrimp front.
Lalani
omgomgomg.gif

I'm gonna send ya a PM. flower.gif
Lalani
Well, they are doing alright. They both have good appetites, but the smaller of the two seems to have been slightly damaged.. haven't been able to get a good look at it in the position it's in.

Heh, I don't think he'll appreciate that..

And thanks, here's a few post-feeding pics for my own amusement! I don't think the little guy is going to be able to eat whole foods yet...

And cute candy stripe shrimp! I'm really getting curious about what type of shrimp I could keep in here..

Lani nice nems, but I think they may be beadlets and not wartahs. wink.gif They look just like a beadlet D got from liveaquaria. Nice either way though
