these are my friends shots from his tank

those marks on the clowns are not from the lobo but the zoas. totally normal they are a beautiful pair. my pair in my main display have the same spots. they think my tubs blu are an anemone.

I love that Riddler Favia! It might be the coolest favia I've ever seen.

...So i decided to make it better by purchasing a Koralia Nano.
(and, oh jeebus, did it make my day better!)

Lemme tell ya. the flowrate is incredible and very even.

The way that the KN puts out flow is perfect for the way my rockwerk is setup,
and the curved front glass, in my tank, really helps to not abrupt any of the water's movement.....


Plus, my tank looks FANTASTIC with just one pump, hidden in the back corner.

It seems like some of the coolest corals are the ones you can get on the cheap. I just got a HUGE monti spongodes today for $15!!! I got a large ORA frag for $10!!!

EDIT: dont kid yourselves either. that dog (Mirana) only looks dirty, becuz she got to live in a 1.5 Acre field
for the last 3 years....(after breeding 20 pups). So she is in NO WAY neglected or mistreated.

back when she was a mama she got a full spa treatment every month....my aunt spoiled this dog.
(20 pups @ $800 a puppy.....she deserved it )

now shes just a 7yr old retiree. livin' out her days as our AKC Certified old lady....

Nice pics and as usual nice vids . Thats one lucky dog! I have spent almost that much on my cat trying to get him cleaned up from his previous life under our shed lol. Now anytime tyhe door is opened he runs the other way. He wont have anything to do with outdside now that he is the boss of the inside .

ive lost 2 freakin colonies of zoa's to what i now know is ZoaPox.....SOB.


right now the pox are workin on my GPE's,
which are smack in the middle of my main zoa garden... im PISSED.

i just bought some furan-2 today, so i plan to start the dipping regiment to cure them.
the only thing that im worried about is:

A- the rock that the garden is on is 1/3 of the rock in the tank, and is 10% submerged in the sand bed. im scared of the possibilties in this scenario... nitrates, sps die off, etc.

B- i dont wanna have to treat ALL the zoas on the rock....(i know, i know. i HAVE to treat ALL the zoa's, blah blah blah.)


this frekkin SUCKS!

but I AM NOT LOSING $300+ IN ZOANTHIDS!

that glass anemone shrimp is the coolest thing ever!

So sorry to hear about the zoa pox. I hope the furan 2 works for you, and you're able to save the majority. Can you treat the tank, so you don't have to pull the rock out? Someone had a great thread here on saving zoas, maybe the propogator. Good luck!

I could treat the tank, but then i run the risk of killing all my inverts, and a few other things.


i dunno what to do yet. i have the 5.5g mixing saltwater right now. it was supposed to be for a frag tank, but it might be a hospital tank soon...again, i dunno.

I finally did it.....


after losing 3 colonies of fairly pricey zoa's, I i decided it was Furan Time!

First, I took all the frags off the Zoa Garden Rock that weren't zoas.
Then, I mixed up 3 packets of "API Furan-2" into 9 cups of clean saltwater.
At that point I removed all the zoa's from the tank and dipped them for 30 minutes.
(I also blasted the "crud" off them, with a pipette, as they slimed over in the dip.)

After the 30 minutes was up I rinsed all the Zoa's in clean salt water (not tank water as Prop had suggested, but hey, big whoop.)

THEN.... i started fraggin'.

*the frags were for two reasons...1)- my zoa's are overcrowded, 2) moar frags, better chances of survival.

as you can see, the first dip yielded AMAZING results. almost all pox are gone and the already healthy polyps have opened and have very minimal color loss.
