Could high Mg be causing low Ph???

My Mg is @ 1450ppm, to combat GHA....
But I've noticed my Ph slip down from 8.4 to 7.8 over the last week.

Im going to obviously research this myself,
but if any of you out there already know why.... help a reefer out.


EDIT: just used the search function... gonna try the airstone test.

Mg should be between 1300-1500 so yours isnt too high. Is your Ph 7.8 all day long or just in the morning or just in the evening? My Ph fluctuates from 7.8-8.4 depending on my light cycle.

But i'ts been stable @ 8.4 day and night lightly.....
But now it's stable @ 7.8 24hrs a day now...

It is the O2 levels btw.
Shoved an airstone in there, ph shot up to 8.4 in 15 min's.....

Not enough surface distortion, coupled w/ film on the water's surface....
Thats actually why I bought the surface skimmer.... for that reason exactly.
but then, it didnt fit...

Makes sense. Both my tank have crazy surface agitation. I do get a film on the surface of my office tank but it only coveres about half the tank since my power head is so close to the surface.

the way my tank is setup, I cant have enuf SD....

If I do have the right amount, the LPS get agitated.
Sucks the big one... But the 22g will be setup ALOT better.

Im gonna set the flow and rock up for permanent housing of specific corals.
I miss my damn Cynarinas sooo much.

I woke up this morning to an AWESOME surprise!

It's an Odyssea "Cube 20"...

Dim's are 19Lx15Wx16H, which puts it at exactly 20gallons.
The slightly off cube look is deh BEST!!!!.... I wonder how the Claus knew?







2x36w PC's and 2x1w moonlights.... *fixture will be gutted and retro'd when needed.

let's just say... I will be using the space very wisely in this tank.
Im gonna use this as a true display tank.
Beauty and longevity are the goals here.

A lot of small (Very Pricey) peices and gardens,
with a focus on SPS in the top region, which will shade mid-light LPS underneath.
Followed by a sandbed completely covered in acans, rics ,yuma, etc.
