Locked or not im glad I followed this thread because I learned alot. Even though the LFSs are a bit of a drive for me im never going the internet route for livestock wink.gif

Don't let this turn you off to buying on line. Most of my transactions are online with retailers and other members of N-R and they have mostly been great experiences. The one or two that wasn't all that great isn't enough to discourage me from buying online or shipped items.

What I find unfortunate is that this thread or one just like it comes up all to frequently with Mr. Coral. Maybe he just deals with morons... (no offense OP - I don't know if you are a moron) but it's been enough to keep me off his web site.

I don't know much about UPS, but don't they label the box if it's been repackaged?

No they won't. Read back I posted the details on how UPS will repackage something. On page 3-5 of this stupid thread.

The giveaway is that the thermal label is cut and taped to the new box. Dead giveaway
Fade2White12
Just noticed this on UPS's website. Doesn't jive too well with Mr. Coral.

QUOTE
In the event that a damaged package is discovered while still in the UPS system, we will notify the shipper of record and provide details.

So technically, if the package was damaged at UPS and thus repackaged, Mr. Coral would have been notified of such. Doesn't sound like that happened.

QUOTE
UPS may inspect the package at the shipper's or receiver's site, or may collect the package for inspection at a UPS facility.

I've never had to file a claim, but it seems like a UPS representative comes and inspects the damage at the receiver's site as part of the investigation. Doesn't sound like that happened.

OMG some mod please close this thread due to the other morons posting on here.

laugh.gif It's a public forum and an issue that was brought out in public and you don't expect people to post or comment?

might look in the mirror when you start saying "other morons posting..."

Let me end this.

Sonny, being a business man, should have just resent a box of corals no problem.. wrote the loss off and moved on... thats what a good business would do, not argue. BotD.

OP should have made this large stink when it happened, not now. If I got into a car accident in 2008.. Im not gonna file a police report mid 09.

Both of you should just walk away.

Which is exactly why pics of the box are needed. Otherwise it's one person's word against another.

Don't believe too much of what UPS says. They don't notify the shipper. We have never been notified of a damaged box or shipment from UPS in three years that I have been using them.

And they have done their fair share of ####ing my #### up. I still like most of their service though.

They do not do this. You call a person on the phone that can barely speak English and fax documents over to them. That is about the extent of a claim.

I couldn't even get a rep out to say hi and thanks for the hundreds of thousands of dollars of business.

Everyone's jumping all over Mr. Coral, but there's not a whole lot of good reasoning yet.
I skipped here from page 6, and up until then, there's still no pictures. You're bashing a NR sponsor's word over someone who's only made 500 posts in 3 years.
Wht makes him so trustworthy?

What does that have to do with anything? ninja.gif
Kraylen
Post count means nothing, take me for example.
Fade2White12
Ok. So they don't actually follow any of their written claim procedure? Whatev.

Before you take their word at face value, try to file a claim. You'll understand then.

no, they really don't. And honestly I would be impressed if they did vs the amount of packages they move in one day.

They only cover up to $100 anyway without insurance which no one buys. Most of the things we ship at my day job are $500 to thousands of dollars. We just have to write it off when they lose or damage something, they do credit out account, sometimes, how nice of them.

On a small purchase like corals $100 can cover something at the least
Fade2White12
Oh, sorry. Reading over my response, it made it seem like I don't believe you. It was more like "whatev" to UPS for stating that they are somewhat thorough but really are not. I haven't ever dealt with them enough to know their practices - I was just going by what they state, and assumed they actually did so.

I can't believe I'm joinging in *hangs head* BUT I thought that I would share that I had ordered a guitar for my nephew's bday and it arrived damaged. Both myself and the shipper called UPS and within 2 days there was a rep at my door looking over the packaging. They cut me a check in short time. Of course...the item was insured. I think all UPS shipments carry 100 bucks of insurance. Correct? or am I totally wrong?? biggrin.gif

what?

this thread isn't about you and me, so stfu. If you've got problems, take it to another thread. It's best if this one either dies, gets resolved, or gets locked. We can take jabs at each other all day long but it won't help fish02 or Mr Coral.

I've only been here a few months, and this site has been invaluable to my new found hobby.

I've purchased stuff from people here on N-R.com and haven't been "Mr. Coral'ed" yet.

So don't be afraid to trade or purchase here.

This is an example of the "new" market place on the Internet. If you get screwed at one Walmart, chances are the public won't get to hear about it.

But on the Web, a conversation can get out of hand really quickly, and Mr. Coral has so willingly put his reputation on the line with this mess by allowing something to go too far. He really is setting a bad example for other vendors here that honestly care about their customers. (wink, wink, StevieT, I am looking forward to that media rack!)

The customer isn't always right, but in this case, it's not the customers fault, and Mr. C shouldn't be treating him like he's a criminal, ESPECIALLY if Fish02 is a repeat customer.
