This is my 56 column so far. I moved everything from the wifes pico and my AP 24 a few weeks ago. Everything survived, and I have seen new growth in everything. I have 1 250 watt MH from FishNeedit.com, but I should have bought 2, so another is coming. I am not running a sump, I have water flow from a Korilia, and Remora for a skimmer. I plan on adding an open brain, and later clams.

LOL...Yours looks good too. I really like the dimensions of the 56 column. I am waiting on the other MH lamp to take a FTS.

Why two? It seems like one would be more than enough light for this tank, even for a clam on the bottom. Is the width the problem?

I need to use 2 because the center brace adds a terrible shadow in the tank. The center brace also gets too hot with a MH directly over it.

Oh, that's right. I forgot about the brace lol.

Well I have added a Nova Extreme pro w/slr for lighting. I picked this up on Ebay for $179. It was a factory reconditioned item, but it looks brand new and works great. I really prefer T-5 over MH, so I was very happy to find this light. I have also added a reef ocotpus BH 1000 skimmer. It is working well also....pulling tons of junk out. I have added a sixline wrasse (not visible in the pic) a few weeks ago, What a great little fish, very active and curious . I found 2 very tiny aptaisia, so I added a peppermint shrimp last Sunday,and he has already eaten 1. SO far the tank is doing very well. I will be adding more zoa's and some more rics very soon.

The refurbished lights on ebay, is that a regular seller that gets them, or was it a one-time thing?

Thanks ......The fishneed it light was great, I was going to buy another 1 but found the t-5 setup by chance. I am pretty sure that Current sells the factory reconditioned lights fairly regular. The Ebay listing that I bought this from stated that they sold facory reconditioned item as "class A" and "class B" condition. I think I got pretty lucky on this one, they had a buy it now price of $289, I saw the listing when it had an hour left wiht no bids and won it at $179 ! Heres a link to an active listing.

Here is a shot of my ric/shroom garden. It is coming together slowly.The pics don't really show how much the colors "glow". The orange musroom almost screams at you when see it in the tank.
