Quick question. Why aren't threads official any more? They have every right to be official...just thinking out loud.

I was going to get a clown goby, but a mantis shrimp just seemed more appealing.
lakshwadeep
Unofficial is the new official. I think people use it just in case someone made the same thread before.
Nanobuds
nice pics and gobies everyone!!!

Here's Squirt in his favorite acro. I've had this guy for about a year now and he's such a fat happy little guy. I did have two in my 90g but one ended up in my overflow where there were hermits and I suspect it became a meal. Also the one that ended up in the overflow had the worst habit of eating my elegance. Yes I said elegance an LPS not an SPS huh.gif . I sat and watched the little guy stuff himself full of the polyps(even though he was well fed on prepared foods). After he dissappeared my elegance started to recover but it was almost a goner.

I also used to have a little Panda Goby. Super cute but oh so cryptic. I had it in a 10g as an only fish and I very rarely ever saw it. I believe it starved and perished tears01.gif They'd be better suited for a tiny pico tank.
Nanobuds
yeah that panda looks pale ans starved... sorry bad luck.

I like squirt, sucks about the other one. i never heard of them eating LPS...
superdavesds

That be my little fellow. He sits on my acan lords and pisses em off all the time.
Nanobuds
nice goby!
GioReef
I used to have one. He was a cool guy but wouldn't eat anything(mysis, live brine, pellets, flakes). He starved to death in about 2 weeks. sad.gif

Here he is though.

Nanobuds
aww... he looked so healthy...
superdavesds
Mine is a bit picky. he also was competing with the clow. Now I tube feed.
doolspin
My clown is has been very picky lately...

I've tired, Formula One flake, duraflake, blood worms, 'reef plankton', sinking pellets, betta food and every combanation of those dipped in garlic. Hell I even bought live adult brine shrimp. He just bites and kills them and then lets them float away. Seems like the only thing he will eat is live baby brine (no nutritional value) and frozen brine (questionable nutritional value) Any ideas?
jds
Thought I would add a new shot of my YCG. Speaking of food, this guy wont stop begging for food. He comes up to the glass any time I walk by and will eat anything thrown in from pellets, to garlic flake, to brine.

IDK, my little guy is eating but keeps getting thinner. I just dont know if he is going to make it. This sucks. sad.gif

he looks healthy besides the skinny stomach... i think he has parasites. when they are fed well they have the good colors, like yours. however he is pobably skinny from parasites. post in the desease or pest treatment for more help...
addicted2reefer
keep your tank stocked with pods and they love cyclopeez . so far anything else i put in there he doesnt look twice at it. the pods give em something to find and eat daily, then i do the freeze dried cyclopleez on sundays.

always perch'd on my montipora digitata. waiting and watching for a pod to move along the glass

superdavesds
Really you think its parasites, hmm. I will try and post to find out. I will say this morning when I got Home he ate real well and looked pretty normal. A while later skinny again. I think he may be anemic! He goes behind the rock and throws up after lunch.

I bought 2 green clown gobies 3 days ago, and for the first 3 days they are not eating. I tried frozen, dried, live brine with and without garlic, same with flakes, and pellets, and they didn't take them. They are in a divider at the moment.

Will they start to eat in a week or so or am i screwed?
coralcor
my dad got a green clown goby..... last week. and he sees him every day,.... but he never swims any where or dose any thing....

My green clown goby took 5 days, almost a week, before he started eating. And he is healthy as horse. smile.gif

Alright, they are both eating now lol. They are taking in everything, flakes, pellets, etc.

But one thing, are they "immune" to anemones?

I have some aiptasia around the tank, and i dont want them to get killed from them.

He has a bunch of bumps on him at the moment. I'm pretty sure it's not ich but I don't know what it is. Still haven't gotten him to eat anything yet. mellow.gif
GiantBen
Here's my green goby. Had him little over a week now.

hlander
The day I got them one jumped into the back of my solana and the other was eaten by my chalk bass a few days later : tears01.gif.
hooligan_78
Mine is in my 10, it's my favorite fish in there. I use a little cup of tank water to thaw the food in and when I scoop out the water, the little booger jumps in! It knows what the lunch wagon is!

Here is mine green clown goby, got him two days ago. He doesn't seem like eating anything for now, and he want to "get out".

speedbump
i was thinking of getting one of these little guys. but i worry about my acro's. will this guy really munch on them?
Nanobuds
they may munch on the acros...
lakshwadeep
In the wild, they live in SPS colonies and eat the polyps.
Megoony
Ugh. I got mine two weeks ago and can't even get him to nibble on anything. I've tried flake, frozen brine, frozen brine in garlic, live brine, frozen mysis . . . and nothing. He's a good color, and pretty active, just really skinny. I've been trying to feed him three or four times a day and still no luck sad.gif i would try cyclopeez but the LFS doesn't have it, and if I order it online he'll still probably have starved to death by the time it comes. BAH.
mad.gif my fish is anorexic mad.gif
Bella's Reef
Here is my little fella, he likes to hang out on this Ricordea and waits for food on my frag rack in my 29g Biocube, definately a character.

bluenassarius
cute one bella's
Nanobuds
i moved my lil guy into the pico today!!

Carriegiesler
I just got a YCG yesterday and within min. of putting into my 29gal nano the P.clown and the 6-line started harrassing him. Poor little guy cant even swim into open water without the other two going after him. Right now I am trying to catch him....which is not proving to be the easiest thing without tearing up my rockscape. I am thinking I am going to have to return him to the store as he will be bullyed to death or starve becase he cant feed properly.

Any thoughts on how to make everyone get along or it is best for YCG to go back sad.gif
Nanobuds
i say take him back srry sad.gif
