I've got 3 K3's in my 75 gallon (no sps) and they are completely silent.
I would put 2 in a tank your size.

Meh, one should work for now. There's patches of cyano all over the tank (lol), so I can see exactly what the flow is doing, and it seems fine for what's in there now and what I have planned in the future. We'll see.
Also, I picked up a rock with seven little toadstools on it this weekend, plus a sweet little Pseudochromis fuscus. I know, horrible first choice for a fish, but it was SO CUTE!

Pics soon, hopefully. I broke a lens recently though, so no guarantees on quality.

I gots a lawnmower blenny. Unfortunately, Barney (the pseudo) is being typical for his genus and tormented poor Bam-Bam till he hid behind the Koralia.

I also spied a tiny sprout of grape Caulerpa. Not sure how I feel about that yet.
I'll try and take some pics tonight, I swear!

I have to do a water change today and siphon the sand, it's pretty gross. FTS forthcoming.

Disclaimer: somehow my camera decided to set itself to the smallest jpg setting and I didn't realize it until the photos uploaded to my comp with blazing speed (lol). Thus, I was forced to work with 1mb jpgs instead of enormously informative raw files. pfft.
These are chiton eggs, far as I can tell. they are kinda bumpy (spikey?), definitely not cerith eggs, and those are the only two motile inverts I have in the tank at the moment. that grey fuzzy thing just above the eggs is the largest chiton of the three I got from john maloney.

A couple fts's.

Nope, no soapfish. There's a Pseudochromis fuscus and a Salarius fasciatus.

Woah! you have a tank. where have I been?
Is that clown hosting your sarco's? My pair did that, and the coral got used to it eventually.

(but until then it was a giant ball of slime most of the time)
I think I see the tunicate... Above the snail on the right side of the main rock? You could just get a cw tank, and then you could have invasive tunicates. Those are fun. (also illegal, but who has to know?)
Tank looks good. Needs more coral.
jeremai
Aug 15 2009, 03:27 PM
The clown has been checking out the leathers for a few days, swimming in and out of their little grove. No actual hosting behavior yet, but I wouldn't mind.
And I have two tanks, actually. The other one needs more coral though too, lol.
Jamie
Aug 15 2009, 11:57 PM
I know! you can put all the coral from one tank into the other. Then, you can make the newly emptied tank a coldwater tank!

omg the ENTIRE substrate is covered in hair algae, lol. some patches of bryopsis as well, but it's pretty and silvery and stuff so I don't mind (yet).
this weekend I'm switching out the sandbed for something finer.
