I've been talking about this tank in my other thread... But, I feel its time it has its own little section of NR.

It's a used tank... used? or green? wink.gif just trying to help the environment.. huh.gif

It's not set up here yet, but this is whats laying all over my garage....

The tank itself is a standard drilled Oceanic... 48"x24"x25"
A custom built stand and hood.
Custom lighting:
2 T5's for Actnics
2 250w MH
14 nocturnal blue LEDs (only part of the lights I added in)
Custom Sump - 40"x12"x18(i think)"
Skimmer (not sure of the type or model yet, I havent picked it up yet)
Ozonizer - Certizon 50
Sump Pump (not sure of the make and model)
Extra impeller for the sump pump
2 new ballasts
Rio Aqua Pump 800 for the Ozonizer
All new filter media for the sump (carbon, filter pad, etc)
All of the plumping pipes, hoses, etc
2 Koralia 4's
2 Koralia 3's
2 visitherm 300w Heaters
6 bags of live sand
bucket of instant ocean salt
RO/DI 100 gpd Portable unit with an extra set of filters
2 36 gallon trash cans
Egg crate
Moon Light controller
Wave Maker
2 90L power head pumps (that were recommended for the wave maker)
80 Lb of cured LR (currently in the trash cans)
2 Power Strips

useless without pictures right?

well.. the pictures are pretty useless if theres no water in the tank... but here they are... happy.gif

The tank still at the store... (the original pics I saw of it)

The garage mess.... aka tank central.
(anyone need any clothes?? haha ive got 5 trash bags full of clothes to give away)
still some cleaning to do.... and the blue back ground will be removed and it will most likely be painted black.
boxes of stuff everywhereee omgomgomg.gif i hate a mess lol.
more boxes! (all the sand)

and lastly...

All of the live stock from these 3 will be moved into it...

Total Cost right now... eek3.gif 2800 and some change.. eek3.gif

well... basically because thats all i have in my current tanks.
purplefirefish
I started cleaning out my box of "reef junk" all random pieces and parts from items i've bought since I started reefing....

I've got 6 bags of biomax ceramic cylinders.... can these be used as frag plugs?

amnestia
That's pretty cool actually never thought of it. But from what I remember isn't that stuff very porous and easily tossed around by the current?

the sump was made to fit into the stand... and it doesnt come out without removing a wall... one of the plates between the sump chamber was loose and the guy resealed it today.

and all together...

minus the lights...

theyre still on the floor mad.gif

lol we literally threw a table away that was in the sitting room just to have a spot for the tank tongue.gif

and the windows... theres a back patio right outside there, no sun/heat coming in.

purplefirefish
oh... and i went to scrape some "rubble" out of a bucket... nice palm full of bristle worms.

this is about the same experience as grabbing one of those small ornamental cacti that leave a billion little stickers in your fingers that you just cant quite see...
Yunachin
Very nice. I love zoa tanks.

foofooree
+1 for awesomeness!
PBUEHH
moar pics dude!
purplefirefish
So... it clears up and i start moving rocks around... then we're back to milky water lol.

I broke my center peice rock earlier sad.gif I guess thats what i get for attempting to scape alone.

i cant figure out how to place the rock now... i havent liked it since the branching arm broke off! The rock all the way in the left corner use to be attached and coming out of the side of the center rock...

everythings just thrown in there and not scaped.
purplefirefish
should i run the skimmer during the cycle?
mushroom head
I would. Whenever I have cycled my tanks ive always ran a skimmer.
foofooree
That rock in the middle is INCREDIBLE!
