So evil.. Did you manage to ship some drivers yesterday as planned?

Only a few. I was having car troubles yesterday that had to be corrected. Had to take the afternoon off of work to fix it. I'm not catching any breaks lately.

I will have more going out this evening.

As planned? I see no posts here about him planning to send any drivers out. That whole part of the thread was lost... Coincidence?

I am hoping they went out yesterday since I usually get things in only a day from Michigan!

Man, I feel for you! We went thru the ICE STORM from HELL winter before last.... I lost everything in my tank and the Generator I ordered/ Backordered/ Re ordered. Showed up 4 hours after the power was restored 6 days later. Gas Stove and Fire Place and Hot Water so we had some salvation but no TV except what we got locally on DC powered b/w TV.

So, I know how bad it can be w/ storms and I have been thru Hurricanes in Fla, Gulf of Mexico. But, hang in there. It's gotta get better. That's one thing that is of certainty.... Gotta get better from here.

Take care and keep me advised of any backouts.

Absolutely no rush here. I'm currently enjoying a big a$ aquarium right now. Tomorrow we dive in the Caribbean off the St Croix north wall. Wish I could get mine to look like this!! Will attempt photos tomorrow.

If you get a chance to make it to St. John do it there are some great dive spots out there.

Please tell me that the drivers went out today. I know lots of bad luck has unexpectedly hit you but we also paid rush fees to get everything in a timely manner. I also understand that the order grew to a MUCH larger size than you (or anyone) expected and we are getting a great deal on hardware.

I just hate the silence and not knowing when I can complete a couple of projects that rely on the LEDs/drivers.

I too would like to know what's up. At this point I have no choice but to be patient, but if this drags on for a couple more weeks I'm not even sure where I'm going to be since I may have to move for a position half way across the country.

Folks, this whole sport is about patience. Put yourself in Evil's shoes. His home was damaged in a massive storm. I'm sure he has about 10,000 little things that take priority over sending updates on when LED's will ship.

No need for the soapbox lecture. No one is saying that they can't live without their drivers - just asking for updates, which i think is entitled.

I am putting myself in his shoes. I totally appreciate what he has done and the issues he is facing.

BUT when the expectation is set:

I would think an update isn't too unreasonable given it doesn't take 5 minutes to do so.

As I stated before, I would completely understand it if Evil said that he needed another week to get his life back on track and we wouldn't hear anything or get anything this month. I wouldn't be thrilled with it but I would understand.

Thanks again Evil for all that you've done. It was fantastic that you pulled this together and we all appreciate the work you're putting into this with everything else going on. Don't hesitate to ask the community for anything if you need help boxing orders or anything else.

I had a timeline for everything posted, but it got taken out in the site crash. I'll have to repost it when I get a minute, and can figure out what i actually said

The last of the LED/Lens/Driver orders will be shipping this weekend. It's been tough juggling everything and getting things done in a timely manner. I do appreciate everyone being understanding and patient. Everyone will be contacted when the order ships.

Yes! I want more projects for my list so I can get it stickied. We have an awesome DIY LED community here (better than anywhere else on the net) and we need to show off your hard work. There are some excellent submissions already, but we need more. Get those creative juices flowing.

Got the leds and drivers in today from the postman. Work will begin when I actually have free time.

Nice, they look bright even without power.

One complaint I have about LEDs though is it's really hard to tell whites from blues once you get them mixed up. I wish they would label them or something. Maybe they are labeled though and I'm just a noob.

It's easy. The emitters for the white LEDs look yellow while the blue ones are white.

Great! Now hurry up and get that fixture finished so I can come see it

I ended up just using my multimeter and testing the LEDs. A nice RB on the star would be nice though.
