Yes, you'll be surprised. There is a petstore inside the fleamarket called aqua zoo. The owner is Chinese named jack. He sells Sumatra rock and also the branchy kind for $4 per pound. Believe it or not he supplies a lot of pet stores with rock. He's been around for a while and most stores in the bay area knows him. Fish prices are a bargain as well.

Information sharing is good. I now know where to get sps and people know where to get lr. Again, seachem reef salt and not marine salt for $36 at h2o exclusives. It is owned by dennis who founded o street aquarium. Bucket of salt in the bay area cost $50 or more.

Sps and a couple zoas and a one or two lps. Yeah I am pretty much over zoas for the most part but there still are a small few that I would still like to have

I know that MARS sets up a lot of meeting but they are all RC members and they have huge tanks and I think they look down on us nano-reefers sometimes so if your in the area post in this thread and I'll set up a good area and time for the meet and swap

Not quite in the Sac area, I live in livermore. I have not tried any LFS's up that way yet. I tend to stay in the eastbay and south bay (I work in Cupertino). if you do get something up I would be interesting in head up that way to meet Reefers and swap stuff.

I wasn't super impressed with them I went last weekend and there store has some nice stuff but who knows how long that will last if you remember fish plant had nice stuff for a while then it went to $hit but if they stay open a full year with no complaints i rescind my judgement.

Most of the reason I don't have any high end stuff is that I don't like it o_O The super rare pricey stuff just doesn't catch my eye. Check out the thread to my 20L in my sig if you want to see, mostly, what I have right now.

There are deals to be had all over sacramento. You just have to compare. I frequent every store including H2O Exclusives. Dennis sells mostly colonies not frags and they are definitely not cheap. Dennis' systems are filtered by ozone and he uses tap water for water changes. Although the water is crystal clear, I do not see much growth in the tank because the water is quite sterile and there is no guarantee that your corals/fish will make it when introduced in your system. He does have deals with fishes occasionally and most of the fishes I purchased there are ok.
