Maybe it was Greta. I heard Sixlines are super aggressive!

Yeah, but greta was in a different tank.
Who knows. They aren't exactly the hardiest of fish anyways.

Oh ya forgot about that. How are your parameters?
Are you thinking about more fish at all then?
Also, can we get a FTS of both the tanks in the stand? i find this setup very interesting!
DHaut
Jan 12 2010, 03:51 PM
Params are fine - I don't know the reason. Like I said, sometimes #### happens. *shrug*
I'd be glad to post some full set-up shots later tonight when I get home. No problem

Wow, quite the compliment

Thank you. I do like the uniqueness of it. It comes with it's own frustrations, though (access to the bottom tank is a bit of a pain).

This is definetly something I would like to try! Myabe For a quarantine tank and a frag tank together.
I love uniqueness! that is why I might get mini dart fish for my 125G when it's up.

I want a red bubble tip anemone for my bottom tank. 18"x18"x16" is plenty of space, right? right?

I want one of those too.
The bottom tank is your Macro dominated tank with the 20" T5's, right?
If so, I think it could work.
I'd really like to put an RBTA in my 30g sometime down the road.
How are things going in your battle against the Evil Pink Fuzz?
I've mostly eradicated mine, but little bits of it keep popping up on my Red Grape Botrycladia Macro.
I hate that stuff.
I spent a while last night picking through my Red Grape strand by strand and removing the Pink Fuzz crap.
My neck was hurting pretty bad by the time I was done, and I have another big clump to pick through today.
DHaut
Jan 13 2010, 12:52 PM
Right now that tank has 40w of T5 - is that enough or will I need to add the other T5 unit back in (still havent called current)?
Pink fuzz is on its way out. Blue-legged hermits ftw!
Weetabix7
Jan 13 2010, 12:55 PM
I really think you would need to add the other T5 unit back in for a BTA.
So Bluelegs eat the Pink Evil, huh?
I wish mine would, but I'm not sure how inclined Bluelegs would be to crawl through a Lg clump of Macro to pick it out.
I also suspect there are different variants of Pink Evil out there and I'm not sure if you and I have the same kind.
The Battle continues...

Jan 13 2010, 12:57 PM
I am adding 10 more blue legs to finish it off. That, with emeralds, nerites, and ceriths have done the trick.
Now if I could kill the cyano in the bottom tank that came out of nowhere...

My guess would be anemone as well.
I've been battling a little cyano as well....just a small patch...guess it's just that time of year
DaveFason
Jan 14 2010, 08:53 AM
Ive had some cyano too. Just cut your lights off for a day, I promise your tank will look cleaner than ever.
I've also ben reading about smaller species gobies and why they tend to disappear. They need to be feed 3-4 times a day. I am looking into building a cooling reactor that would supply food the entire day ( like the NPS tanks ).

3-4 times a day, huh? My little guy looks fat though when I see him, which is once every couple days it seems. I haven't been great about feeding that tank daily, so now I'll step it up. Keep me posted on that cooling reactor - sounds interesting.
And I meant to unplug the light this morning to do a blackout - oh well. Tomorrow.

Will a RBTA eat juvi clowns?
spanko
Jan 14 2010, 09:40 AM
Probably not what you want as an answer but probably the truth. You pays your money and you takes your chances, anything can happen just when you think it cannot. Likely, probably not, possible, most certainly.
DHaut
Jan 14 2010, 09:46 AM
hmm...
so what if I got the clowns first, let them grow up, then added the nem? the nem will be a baby when I get it, it looks like.
spanko
Jan 14 2010, 09:52 AM
Now that said and the requisite hmm.. obtained the other considerations would be the size of them nem, the size of the clowns, and of course whether or not the clowns actually go into the nem at all. Are they tank raised or wild as this also has a bearing on their desire to go into the nem.
Then there is always the influence of Sauron the dark lord himself!

Tank raised. I'm thinking of getting a pair from christoclowns. The RBTA is coming from Atlantis Reef, also tank raised.

Sorry D, thought I posted a reply last night.
Pretty much what Henry has said. If the added nem is too small, the fear there is the clowns harassing the poor lil' feller to death... or so I have been told.
