It still makes me feel inadequate. sad.gif

its a CRAP load more then what i have....but personally..I do not really want anything more I have lens wise. The only other lens I want is either the Canon 300 2.8IS or the Sigma 120-300 2.8..its a toss up between those to..I would have ZERO need to have that much gear
Lalani
Oh, I agree, I have no need for that much stuff.... but it is impressive nonetheless, lol. If I could add a decent wide-angle, telephoto prime, and the MP-E I would be satisfied.

unless you can find a 100-400 for $1000 or under..I just dont feel it is worth the price tag it carries...
andykee

OMG this thing is a freaking BRICK

i'm going to have to get the grip for my camera just so I can hold on to it while I'm shooting
05XRunner
well..its nickname is The Brick...man i couldnt imagine holding a XT with a 24-70 on it..do you have any room left for fingers

finger room isn't really the problem.. i can get my fingers between the body and the lens, but the camera digs in to the palm of my hand and it hurts after holding it for like a minute!

time to get the grip i think :-/

dont over pay for the canon grip.
I use to have this on my XT years ago..its a 100% duplicate of the canon..built exactly the same just doesnt say canon on it.

latazyo
grip has been the best accessory I bought for my setup to date
05XRunner
I always get a kick out of this...Everyone thinks the grip is a GREAT addition...Yet everyone complains about the size of the Pro bodies with the built in grip.
latazyo
not me, I have big hands
Lalani
I love the grip on my XT, so I'm sure I wouldn't mind a pro body..... teehee.
latazyo
the only people that would actually say they don't want a pro body because of its size are people that are sour grapes about not being able to afford the pro body
05XRunner
its a dangerous game though...I could never go back to anything but a 1Series since I got my 1DII...So only options for upgrades for me is the new 1Series...but it feels SOOOO good in hand
latazyo
its certainly not that great for hiking and carrying through woods, etc, but as long as you're not a big puss you should be fine

the body is only 3lbs..if someone cant carry that then they should go find a weight...even with my 100-400 its only 6lb total..its not heavy at all
latazyo
there you have it

we have conclusively proven that there is no reasonable excuse for not having a pro body
Lalani
Lack of money.

yay lens that is 3x the size of my camera
disaster999
great choice in lens. i played with that in the canon show room here in hong kong (they have every possible lens canon produced in the show room that you can try, along with all the newest bodies).

the focus on that thing is lightning fast!!!

i think people say the grip is a great addition is because it transform the camera to a pro series body like state without the price tag.

i personally would pay for the pro bodies rather than the grip. the look and feel is completely different

that thing is a HUGE waste of money..its IQ isnt even that good and a 600 f4 with a 2x teleconverter on it blows it away..and a 1/10 of the price...its not even that big compared to the Sigma 200-500 f2.8 zoom

QUOTE (latazyo @ Mar 18 2009, 11:35 PM) *
what's the filter size on that andy?

77mm same as almost all the Canon L zooms..I think the 16-35 is the only one that is not 77mm
