latazyo
Mar 18 2009, 11:04 PM
mirror self portrait
I was having huge trouble with shutter speed, even at 2.8, I thought about putting the speedlight on but thought that might be a little much
I was at 1/10, so I'll have to see how they turn out
didn't even dawn on me to raise the ISO above 100 for some reason
lani, in the interest of being able to show off the most, you'd probably be best off using your biggest lens
that what andy and I did
Lalani
Mar 18 2009, 11:05 PM
Oh, I don't have any 'big' lenses.. my main two are the 100mm macro and 28-135mm.. Meh, lemme go take some pics.

i shot mine at 2.8, ISO was 100, had no issues with shutter speed. maybe you should move your mirror out of the cave there homie

The 24-70 is a nice lens! I borrowed my friends for few trips and thought about getting it too. But, last nite I just picked up the 24-105 brand new from craigslist. I can always borrow the 24-70 if I need 2.8. So far liking the IS!

Both are sweet lenses!!

yeah, i thought i left the 2nd curtain flash sync on by accident (was playing with it the day before) but i just checked and it was back on 1st, so those ghosties must be real dead people.
and i was holding the camera above my head with my arm fully extended

more fisheye fun. it looks like i missed the focus a bit in the first one, but it looks ok full-sized... weird.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. LOVE the razor thin DOF. I get about 1/2" in focus at the minimum focus distance of 3' at f/1.8. Should be fun to play around with this weekend in Santa Barbara.

its a nice lens I use to have one a while back. Be careful wide open in high contrast situations or the images will look like you spilled grape pop in them.

yeah, I heard the CA is pretty brutal wide open. almost got the 100/2 instead (supposed to fix a lot of the CA issues) but it was a little too long for me.
