The mandy is still in the frag tank for now. She's skinny... but I think she actually nibbled on some of the mysis and other bits of food I put in there today. I'll give her a few more days to start eating, but if she doesn't, I'll find an LFS to take her in. *sigh*

mkregs- That's some halimeda algae that had seeded itself into the sandbed. I'll take a pic later on of how long the roots are.

Nah, I probably won't add any more rock. I'm loving the openness of it. Sure, it's wasted real estate, but I don't care.

Note: The fixture is still short two bulbs, so I bought some actinics. When those come in, the tank will be even brighter and the colors on the corals should pop more.

nice! I would love some actinics. Not until the fall or winter though.


Also, Looks Great! I get some good vibes from the rock placement, feng shui style.

I really like you did with this tank. I think my next build is going to be something along these lines. That 40 is really a nice size tank for reefing. It looks like you kept it simple and better yet it's working. Very nice!!!

That halimeda bush is sweet! I have a few inch or so long spouts of it growing on some LR in my tank. Pretty cool looking stuff.

i agree. i think it is good the way it is.

Here are some quick and crappy shots... it's been a busy day and the water is still a little smokey looking. Plus, still lacking two actinic bulbs so the colors are not what they are supposed to look like.
