Hay Kimmybear, just a protip from a pro (lols, well, retired pro anyway). When you make .gif animations, try to make every frame line up properly or it freaks the eyes the #### out. Just a note. Otherwise they look schweet flower.gif

Heh, yeah.. I noticed that. tongue.gif
Not bad for a first try though, right?

It's still a bit small, but we'll see. tongue.gif

I'd say for a first time you did pretty dern well, miss smile.gif The best technique I've found is a hybrid of onion-skinning, set your top layer to 40% opacity or so (depending on the image of course, some are much harder to see through), line it up with what's under it, then return the opacity to 100%. 60% of the time, works every time.

Did you ever figure out what light combo you are runnin?
Lalani
Oh, um.... 2xGeismann Actinic+, 1xGE 6500K (might switch back to the aquablue+), 1xUVL super actinic. smile.gif

Some random piccies:

d'Espresso
hey lalani, is that a rainbow yuma? what type is it? do you still have that pink yuma btw. i would love to find one somewhere but its hard to find it now.. nice photo shoots!
Lalani
Those are mini nems. And yeah, I still have the pink yuma. PM nanopaul if you're interested in one. Thanks!
fellbeast
Nice thanks! Preety pics.. what happened to the Fiji Purple?
Lalani
Well, I had to choose 4 bulbs... and the purple just didn't make the cut, lol. I may decide to use it later on again, who knows!

Your SPS are looking lovely, Kim smile.gif

I have a 4 bulb system also. Was thinking of taking my fiji purple out and putting the UVL 12k in.

I have 2 ATI Blue+, UVL super Actinic, and the Fiji Purple. whatcha think?

Sounds like a good mix. I did have all actinics in mine, but the SPS weren't growing without some kind of white bulb, so I tried the 6500K. They're growing again but now I'm thinking the aquablue+ did a better job. I think I'm just going to leave it for now.. Gives me a headache.

I'll probably take a frag of both the hammer and frogspawn and put them in the 15gal (which has the sundial over it under which the LPS looked so good) and see if they improve. If they do.... the 15gal may be turned into an LPS tank.

I agree about the headache thing! The UVL 12K is similar to the Aquablue Special.. which is a 12K.. are you referring to that or the blue+ actinic by ATI. My SPS grow under my current configuration, but I'm thinking they may grow better with the 12K instead of the Fiji. From what I heard the Fiji does have some benefits.. hmm. Then I heard it's just for show fo rthe reds purples.. etc
Lalani
They are labeled 'Giesemann Aquablue+' smile.gif

Yeah, I had the Fiji Purple in the fixture for a while, but honestly didn't see any benefit from it... didn't really notice it was in there at all.

After a couple of water changes: dKH - 10.9 Calcium - 220
Getting there.

Turns out I still have a few stomatella snails lurking around, including a small b&w one. I thought I lost them all. wub.gif

Noticed a sweet sponge growing on one of the filters:

There's a big pink sponge growing on the underside of some of the rocks in the back.. very pretty, just can't get pics.

Oh, and split!

Hellur happy.gif
on my 125 I took out the fiji bulb, it gave a pink tint to my tank with the other bulbs that IMOdid not look natural...my brother helped with the configuration
back-
aquablue
blue+
blue+
10000k
front-
my bulbs are staggered so this is the way they looked best
the pulling out and plugging in and moving them around was a PITA. Finally went with 4 bulbs since my corals were getting bleached again altho not as bad as with the NEP, everything looks great and the colors are more natural to my eyes.

enough rambling lol the pix are berry nice Lani girl biggrin.gif

ew, penguinz in a box? Somtimes I just don't understand penguin marketing techniques.
Lalani
Okies, everyone looks good! The glass is a little dirty and I don't want to spook them with the magfloat, so pics will have to wait. Ken at Sealife Florida is awesome; I can't say that enough. I placed an order for:
My tank:
7x masked gobies
1x yellow head jawfish
1x nano cluster of yellow eye zoas
Mom's tank:
1x neon goby
1x nano size pencil urchin
15gal tank:
1x red mithrax crab

Got all those things, plus an extra urchin. Also, he sent three frags of the zoas; way more than I was expecting!

The masked gobies are already starting to stick together. There are 5 hovering together in the front left corner, one sitting in the front right corner and one of the larger ones is mia in the rocks. The jawfish is breating heavily, but his color is good. I fed the tank and some of the gobies started eating right away so that's a good sign. There are a couple of large ones, and a couple of tiny ones, so a good variety in size.

My mom was giddy when she saw the urchins in action and she seemed to really like the neon goby too.

As soon as I get a chance to clean the glass, I'll snap some shots of the new guys. happydance.gif

Oh, 6 gobies are now schooling. The one largest one is still mia.
Jamie
Thank you for showing me the fish I should have gotten for my tank. If the yasha ever comes out, maybe I'll net it and replace with a few of those guys. Cool little fish!
Lalani
Let's see how well they do as a group in a tank this size first! I had tried a trio of them in mom's 10gal, but the largest of the three bullied the other two to death within a couple of weeks.. I'm hoping this larger tank/more room and larger group will fare better. fingersx01.gif
DBTReefer
Awesome new fish! If they work out well in your tank, I will definitely consider them for my school's tank.
