Tank looks great Lani. That Halimeda looks awesome in your yuma garden. I think it adds some realism and greatly accents the yumas. Did you do that on purpose or did it just happen that way?
Great tank!!!

Gracias! The halimeda just grew that way on its own.

I used to pull it out, but have been letting it grow.

Hey Lani was pondering on your bulb problem. I had the same issue going from the Current stock bulbs to ATI's They are very powerful.. and I had a lot of bleaching. I originally had 80watt PC's then bought a Bought Current SLR T5's and their stock bulbs brightened my colors big time. The I upgraded bulbs to ATI 2 - Blue+ (Not 12k specials) UVL 10k, and Fiji Purple. It bleached my acros, candycane and purple zoas. So I feel your pain. Colors did come back though after I ditched the UVL 10k and put in a UVL Super Actinic. How long have you had your coral under these bulbs. What are you runnin now? Are corals lookin better.
I'm runnin this now

I'm a little scatter brained right now, and don't remember which bulbs exactly. The corals are looking better than when I was using all 6 bulbs though. This weekend I'll try switching out the aquablue+ with a spare 6500K I have and see if that makes any difference at all. I may end up replacing the bulbs with the same configuration and cheapo bulbs I used in the Sundial over the 20H.

Kinda early for that! But yeah, we talked about how I hardly ever shoot in the landscape format. I've been working on changing that.

Jamie - Thanks! I love that yellow/orange cerith. It was a baby hitcher in the 5.5gal when I set it up and it's grown so much.

Hey buddy! Umm, I'm really not sure what exactly makes the halimeda happy.
The lighting is 6x39w T5HO. 2 actinics for dusk and dawn. 2 actinics, figi purple, and aquablue+ for daytime. The ric rock is obviously at the bottom of the tank and in a low flow area. The halimeda is popping up all over the place though, including the sandbed and high flow areas. Not sure what the water params are..
hmm, my light is a simple 150w 20k mh. guess it shouldnt be too different from your super duper complex disco light party. bleh! j/k. i can't afford your lights. most probably i will stick with my old rusty halide.

just 1 more question, what is the temp like? Thanks again!
Lalani
Aug 12 2009, 10:11 AM
Ha! The lighting is giving me a headache though.
How's your tank doing, btw?
Temp stays right around 79F.

hee, well.. nobody ask you to put a myriad of mood lights over your tank! just kidding.
temp is my big issue, it's always summer here but this is the summerest period of the year, right now. so, yea, tank is have a rough time. everything is still alive but nothing spectacular going on. i have a chiller but i cant afford the electric bills. sad, i know.
