Pretty pictures Lani, your tank is sweet! Mind telling me what type of camera/lens you use? My wife is a photographer by profession, she does portraits and what not but no macros.

She has a Cannon 5D MarkII, but all the pics I take with it look like crap, I'm dying to get a macro lens.

Regardless of that, the mandarin is looking great.

Red bugs are easy though, they stay on the coral so when you take it out to dip it you really dont have to treat your whole tank.

Yeah, she's nice and fat now. Especially considering how she started off, she's doing really well. I'll just treat her with Rod's Food or whatnot every now and then.

And yeah, nano-paul and I discussed how to get rid of the red bugs. I'll probably find some interceptor and make a dip just for that frag, it's the only one they are on and the frag itself doesn't seem bothered by them.. but they are multiplying quickly. Gotta take care of them soon.

I think mandarins actually eat them, do you ever notice her checking it out?

Nah, she hasn't gone near those frags. She tends to stay at or near the bottom of the tank and any time I approach the tank, she hides. She's shy.
Except when she's courting her reflection... she seems to be in a trance. I can even move the huge magfloat next to her and she keeps doing what she's doing until she suddenly snaps out of it, lol.

As of right now, I don't have many of the blue zoas, but they seem to be spreading again. I also need to get a frag pack together for one of my bestest buddehs (Richie), so I'm not sure how long it would be before I had more blues to spare. I have plenty of the daytrippers though! I'm just not so sure how well the halimeda will do when transfered to a new tank.. That nice 'bush' of the stuff I had growing in the sand has been quickly fading and dying in the 40br since the transfer...

It was actually pretty good.. I spent half the time taking photos of the Arctic =] There's one or two on my deviantart profile somewhere if you wanna see.

Heh, we'll see about that. The SPS pieces I have are pretty interesting and I'm happy that they are growing well (I need to take comparison shots) but I don't think I'll ever give up my softies and LPS.

And glad they are doing well for ya.

The corals in the 40br are recovering nicely and I'm even noticing some new growth on a lot of things, especially the LPS. The zoas are still in limbo, but at least they are all open again. The rics have relaxed a little bit, but I suppose it's still a lot of light for them.. they are splitting well though. All in all, this tank is doing well.

Call the propaganda group the "Softie Mafia", and then get a bunch of fashionable men to ride around on scooters saying Ciao to every person they see.

And dress as giant teddy bears. That's GOTTA convince people, trust me, I did the maths and it checks out.

I just got my new Tunze from DT and should be getting my inTank stuff tomorrow!!! Can't wait to get all that stuff going...AND, like my "mentor", hehe...I started getting a little GHA and figured out it was time to reorder filters for my RO unit...bad bad bad! Should be getting those in a couple days...plus ordered new lights as one just went out this weekend! AND one of the darn cooling fans was making crazy noises...so I emailed RSM about THAT! Sheesh!

Oh and guess what?! I got my TDS meter today and checked my water...2ppm! Haha...geesh...guess freaking out and ordering all new membranes wasn't really necessary just yet. Oh well...at least I will have them to replace when I need them. Hopefully with my new lights, skimmer, chemi-pure and purigen the GHA will take a hike.
